    Chainsaw art is not for me...

    this was my first attempt at chainsaw carving. Its a chuck of chestnut. I used my Husky 61 for everything except the eye, used a POS poulan for that. Used a dewalt drill todrill a hole for a corncob pipe.

    good files last a long time (with PROPER care) . My father has old german machine shop files that are still wicked sharp, and they have been used for over 50 years. why waste money? buy good files to start with and take care of them.

    55 gallon drum of industrial weight auto transmission fluid works just fine for me. Self cleaning, handles extreme temps for long durations, cheap, and it lubricates incredibly well.

    lots of loggers here on the West Coast of BC and on the Mainland use chain for fliplines, more so on the BIG cedars and douglas firs./ something about being eaiser to get it around the tree and flipping it up.....

    fair enough, two different work environments. :cheers: you run yours for 8-10 hours solid, i run mine for 1 - 4 hours, light duty (climbing/limbing, small tree blocking down). to be honest, i PREFER a rear handled saw for blocking down, and will offten grab my venerable Husky 61 for that...
