    Kickback sensor

This^! It's desperately needed in the industry and if successfully designed would be adopted by MNF's across the industry. The anti-kickback idea....well that's much less of an issue as there is already a simple, manual device that is very hard to beat. Work out a good device to make chippers...

My answer for the flipcap problem.

Yeah but how many times a day are you opening & closing them? They work wonderfully until they don't.

    Carbs ethanol mix

Fact....but you won't convince anyone here of that. Ethanol get the blame everytime. OEMs have been geared up for ethanol use for decades. It's the poor gas and what's in it that's the problem.

Maybe you should delete your post as you've highlighted his number and Joe deleted his post.lol

Your husky saws in the application ratings

That graph makes more sense for marketing purposes than real world use. If you 'need' to consult the chart to know what your saw is capable of you either have too much time on your hands or should hire some help.

    550xp stopped idling.

Sounds like he should have purchased a saw a bit more suitable to his skill set like a MS290 or something. Given he can't sharpen a chain...runs it at 3/4 throttle etc etc.

    Question about WOT and limbing

No sensible answer here will come close to you getting behind your saw and gaining insight. Experience will give you all the answers and understanding.

    Scored Husqvarna 570

I'd compare the cost of a new OEM p/C kit to the AM. You might be surprised that there isn't that much difference. If similar in price it's a no brainer on which way to go. But best find out exactly how that saw failed before putting it back into service. I'd check the fuel had oil in it.

    Stihl ms261 Awesome

I'm still running a 2015 version-1 MS261. Easily 2 to 300+hours run time, nothing has broke down just replaced the clutch, clutch drum, bearing, many sprockets, wore out 2 bars and wearing out another 3 (Stihl/Tsumura/Windsor), one leaky oil cap & its second spark plug. I only replaced those...

What is with all the straight gassing?

Straight gassing is fairly simple and easy to do for the uninformed. But it's far more embarrassing to admit it on a saw forum among the more experienced users therefore it's almost always...'my neighbour....', 'my brother in-law...', 'the guy down the street' etc etc. Very rarely will someone...

Quite a few, many gum species, grey box yellow box and other box species.

    Chain for Australian hardwood

Rogues old man cut with an 090 25" hardnose b/c in shorts with flipflops & no hearing protection. Not sure he'd like anything about a 661... standard carb or not.

Question about narrow kerf chain for MS 250

You won't gain power but you might gain efficiency due to the narrower kerf. But on a 50cc saw low profile chain simply may not be able to remove wood fast enough, it's generally used to make the most of lower output saws. The wood density plays a role too. You can try it and make a judgement...

Is there a way this 71 yo man can start his new 250 stihl chainsaw?

If I'm still running saws in much 70's, I'd probably m Remove/modify the pull start and use a drill with a ratcheting adapter and socket fit right in the flywheel nut. Easy peasy!

    MS201t Problem

Length of starter cord if not correct and right size will change the 'gearing' involved in turning over the engine.

    Chain for Australian hardwood

Rainfall plays a big part in how hard and dense our trees can be.

    0.050 vs. 0.063

When cutting really hardwoods chips will bind up in 0.50 and you literally have to pry them out. This doesn't happen with 0.63. If your not cutting really dense wood you'll never notice a difference, that's why so many say their is no difference. If 050 works well for you stick with it.

Longevity of modern 90cc class saws

He wants a precise answer to a saw that's not released and another that's been out for a few years. We have know idea whether he'll use it 2hrs per year or a 1000. Given what we do know the 592xp will last 5.216 years & the MS661 will last 4.631 years. Disclaimer: results may vary from...

    I got the ms500i R

Shame we are a big ocean away as I've got a lightweight Sugihara 32" 3/8 050 Stihl mount I'd happily trade for a 063 Stihl light. I even add some cash to get rid of the darn thing! Great bar but 050 is not for me in Ozzie hardwoods.
