    Jon cutter 5800

Most of the dust bypasses the air filter through the hole in the top where it goes over the bolt that holds it down. A thin rubber washer will seal it up

    Surgery Tomorrow

I hope the operation is a success. I had part of my right kidney removed four years ago to remove a tumor. Had a scan last month and it has not returned. It was a scary time but all worked out well in the end.

    new piston in 365

Something doesnt look right with that piston. The crack or dent to the left of the ring locator pin should not be there. It also looks like the ring was not touching the bore in places

What can be done to save this apple tree?

I think that tree is too far gone to save. In future is you have to prune a tree , you need to cut them off flush with the trunk or limb so that it can heal. When you leave short limbs like on that tree they usually start to rot

    Which way around

Has it got the vacuum operated oil pump that always fails on them. They usually let chain oil go into the crankcase so it fouls your spark plug. A lot of people plug the hole into the crankcase and just use the manual oiler

    Ported saws

I have a few saws that i ported and haven't had one blow up yet. If it is done right you will cut more wood on a tank of fuel.

What upgraded bar and chain fits Joncutter G4500

K095 bar mount fits. They use 325 pitch chain. I wouldn't go any longer than 18 inch bar which will use a 72 dive link chain

    No power

Might be a small crack in the fuel line too

silver brazing on outside of muffler?

I have used silver solder on mufflers without any problems.

    Plastic crank seals?

Nothing wrong with those seals. They will have metal under the rubber coating

$9 echo at goodwill. Why lol

I would try to salvage the chain. It might only need a good soaking in WD40. The bearing on the bar tip might be a problem if it is pitted from rust

$9 echo at goodwill. Why lol

That rust on the spark plug is not a good sign. The crank could look pretty ugly

    MS 880 Given to Me

By the looks of the area around the clutch i would say the crank seal is melted too. You most likely have a bad vacuum leak from the clutch side crank seal

Excuses you use to justify your CAD

I think i have used all those excuses at some stage. I even have a saw i bought for parts for another saw i have, that i ended up fixing and using. I also have a new 48mm and 52mm piston and cylinder for my 372XP just to try one day. I also bought a 390XP piston and cylinder to see if i can make...

    Broken saw!

It is not that difficult to replace the pump. Once you get the clutch off, push the chain brake lever forward so it is easier to move the brake band out of the way to get the oil pipe out. The hardest part is putting the e clip back on to hold the sprocket on without it flying off into some...

    Real deal?

The should have tried selling it as a Zenoah , which is what the Chinese copied to make these saws. The starter housing and filler caps are a giveaway from that angle.

Question for porters or seasoned chainsaw mechanics.....

Possibly a vacuum leak on the 346 XP. I have had an Echo brushcutter that wouldnt idle when warmed up and it was a leaking cylinder base gasket that caused it.

Question for porters or seasoned chainsaw mechanics.....

People modify the flywheel key to advance the timing. Sounds like it might just be the coil. When coils are on their way out they usually have spark while cold and start breaking down and stop as they warm up

Can I repair the bearing in this bar?

You used to be able to replace the bearing and nose sprocket in those types of bars but i have not heard of it being done for a long time. You just grind the heads off the rivets and push them out to remove old sprocket and bearing. The new sprocket and bearing would be wrapped in paper to hold...
