I am wondering if anyone else has issues with the factory bar oil hole blocking up and stopping oil flow? fun saw to use except for this problem. Thanks!!!

I had a husqvarna 136 doing the same thing to me,it would run right for 5 mins and then the thing would throw fits,never did figure it out..I am guessing it had a crack in the case somewhere..it did take a ride into the woods though.

I use to work on a crew clearing powerline "right of ways"...we used 16",.325. 346 is a GREAT chainsaw,you can't go wrong buying one.

I used to use an old beat to death 044,looked like it was dragged behind a truck down a dirt road. that saw ran and cut,day in and day out.....in the hot and in the cold...dirt, mud,pinched in logs,you name it. to this day it was the toughest saw or tool for that matter I have every seen.

I think you have the right idea,try to save the cylinder,if you can't maybe a parts saw will show up for you. if you take your time and put her back together,you'll have a nice backup saw.

359 from the list you gave.....trolls right on with the 357xp,some more money but feels better in the hands,revs out real nice,nimble handling too. the price difference will not matter if you take into account the years of enjoyment and use you get out of a "pro" grade saw.

my little cub cadet 3916 is a respectable little saw,efco makes very rugged power equipment.

250 is a saw made to be used here and there,361 is made to run all day long every day. as sawtroll said the quality difference will be apparent the first cut.

yes it's true it is not a "pro" saw,but it is not a piece of junk by any means. keep a nice sharp chain,good quality fuel and oil,you will get alot of use out of it.....for $100 you got quite the deal.:clap:

those 076 are heavy as heck,but they pull giant bars with authority,should be a cool project for you.:clap:

051's are heavy as anvils.....and tough as one too.

my cousin basically used the saw for a year hard for a $100.00,he has a couple more to go after his work dies down,so beware of any 290's on ebay!!!!! heck he has 3 or 4 dead carcasses too,he might as well list them too.

if someone has an amish used saw it would win hands down,when they get done with a saw you can't even tell what brand it is.

my cousin sold one of his "well used" 290's on ebay,he has a firewood buisness. the damn saw went for almost the price of a new one.....people are nuts. he made out like a bandit,used the saw for a year and sold it....went and got a new 290 for about $100.00 plus his ebay money!!!

nothing wrong with having great tools to get the job done. I know the stihl's for cutting wood...what "job" is the s+w for!!!

I have had mine for 4 years or so,it was one of the first batch of saws with the air leak at the carb boot...had a bi$%%ch of a time with it until the "sealing ring" upgrade came out. after the air leak issue was fixed it has been trouble free,one year we took it 40 cord of tops for...
