I use a Hardline 8061. It’s the exact same product that Stihl rebrands as their EDT-9. I picked it up from Amazon for about $25.

I would lean more towards an 029. The filter cover is more block shaped and has a knob on it. The 290 has a more rounded cover with a 1/4 turn lever. I agree that an 029 should have a model plate though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got some of the same stuff. Some regular amber colored stuff, and some that’s red colored...supposed to be hi-temp for disc brakes. I had tried to find some info on grease in a few other threads, and that left me thinking that it was some kind of sin to use anything other than the factory...
