Anybody Ever Change A Tip Sprocket In A Stihl Rollomatic Bar?

If you are desperate, a 16 penny nail is 4.2mm diameter. Soft enought to cut and make many rivets out of 1 nail! Did that on some Homelite and Oregon bars when I did not have enough rivets to fill the tip. A 5/32 pop rivet would also fit. Squeeze the rivet into the hole, remove the center...

    Bulge/deformity in Dutch West stove

looks like flame deflector for the cat converter above it. The back and side burn plates may also be cracked or broken too. Usually caused by overfiring the stove, hot enough to melt cast iron. The top plate and others are replaceable. IF (as you indicated) the plates behind and above are not...

Why no aftermarket poulan clutch covers

Look up "poulan clutch cover" on the **bay site. Find the "china" ones. Look closely at the picture for the "PP295, PP4620" covers. Compare the top edge and corner where the clutch lever is. If the picture matches what you need, then get this one. I tried to get a clutch cover for an older...

    Welding worn sprockets

Perhaps grind the tips of the teeth down to fit a rim drive sprocket over them? If welding, I'd be careful to not overheat the assembly and melt the brazed sprocket off the drum!

    Want to Buy Mac 3200

I have the 3216 version. Lotsa oompf for a little saw. Saw is 15-20 years old and spare parts are NLA. Coupla things: 1) better to get the anti vibe version. Lotsa vibration for a small saw. Expect to have to change both the oil and gas lines. You will have to completely dismantle the saw to...

Carburetor screws in horrible place. Any advice?

I think a few home made thick cardboard or gasket material spacers would be all you need to try this method out. Easy to cut and punch holes into. Screws? I assume the existing bolts are SAE size and you can buy longer ones and some nuts at the hardware store...cut off the heads if you need to

Carburetor screws in horrible place. Any advice?

How about adding a spacer underneath the carburetor to bring the screws higher above the pipe?

Using Drain Snake on 6" Flex Chimney Pipe

I would second the soot eater thing. Designed to be easily used with a drill! Uses weedwacker lines for the cleaning. I also use a fiber brush for my 6" steel flue pipes. Too tight to spin with a drill. Only push and pull to clean. Doubt you can spin a brush like that with a drain snake, or...

Is this a fair price for an iron and oak 22 ton?

Hmm..there's no round dislodger nor provisions for log catcher/table. You may want to factor that into your decision as I find these two features important to have!

Want to Buy Needing an MTD #753-06409 or Similar Throttle Cable

    FarmerTec/Huztl Rail System

Here's a website I stumbled onto that describes the Hutzl milling setup. Lotsa other stuff there too! http://bruceteakle.blogspot.com/2018/10/holzfformahuztl-alaskan-chainsaw-mill.html

The effects of bad fuel/low octane

Maybe water in the fuel? If you still have any of the Kroger fuel, pour some into a clear (gatorade or spring water) bottle. Look for that nice cloudy white liquid in the bottom. A little 2 cycle oil in the fuel helps to see the layer.

    Poulan 4218 A041 to K095 conversion?

Is there a 3/8LP bar available in 20"?? Don't know if that's available! Look up "pp4620". The bar is a 20" Poulan mount, but it's 0.325 chain, not 3/8LP. Then you need to get a new sprocket to fit the new chain pitch. The mounting (and oil) holes on a K095 bar are bigger and need to be...

    Chimney Liner questions....

Of course, when it comes to cleaning the chimney, having a liner means using only one brush. AND everything stays IN the liner; not all over the smoke shelf, inside the fireplace, as well as on top of your stove insert

    Bucking Large Logs

Instead of rolling, I would use the pry bar to lift the log and stuff smaller limbs under it (the log) to raise it up off the ground. Especially helpful when the tree root is still attached to the log and the ground!

Need help finding rivets for old saw

Get some common nails, or flat head bolts. File to size, then cut and pound that end with a (ball pein) hammer until the head mushrooms. Harbor freight sells 1/4" pop rivets that you can drive out the center pin and use what's left as the rivet!

    Stihl serial number lookup

Based on the IPL for the 026, and part revision serial numbers, the saw was made between serial numbers "x"25809073 (1992) and "x"322252038 (1995). "X" is the plant location, in your case "2" The 038 is sometime after 1988 (x18722979) and before 1999 (144381326) Hope this helps a little...
