You can probably put a plug into where the decomp valve threads in. That's the way my 660 was built. Seems like my 361 wants to flood every time I use the decomp, so I don't use it anymore.

Yep. On its best days, my F-150 gasser (5.4 liter) gets 17 mpg. My F-250 with the 7.3 liter PowerStroke diesel gets 25 mpg on the highway, and AVERAGES 20 mpg (and that figure is calculated from the total fuel I've burned since I got it -- 440 gallons, 8810 miles).

I bought a case of synthetic Mobil 1 Racing 2T oil (for air-cooled motocross bikes) back when that oil was discontinued about 12 yrs ago or so at a deep discount from Auto Zone and I am still burning it. If I were to buy new oil today I would probably buy synthetic Motul 800. OIL THREAD YAY!!!

I always heard that TCW-3 is no-go in air-cooled engines because they get way hotter than water-cooled outboards, and presumably get carboned up when using TCW-3. Can't carbon deposits cause problems with piston rings (like scuffing/scoring/seizing)?

I don't know why one would want to run kerosene in a diesel vehicle. Around here, diesel fuel is $1/gallon cheaper than kerosene. So some people burn road-taxed diesel fuel in their kerosene heaters.

Lots of gas stations sell K-1 clear kerosene here in Virginia. We use it in kerosene heaters. They don't sell kerosene in Montana? Maybe it's because we're closer to the coast and all the coastal refineries...?

Mine didn't separate, it just kind of stratified or settled such that the mix at bottom was darker than at top, and the color change was gradual and continuous. No separation into distinct layers, though.
