Does anyone climb with the spiderjack 2.1?

If you have climbed the spider jack 2.1 do you see a safety issue with having a lever to release a brake instead of grabbing a friction hitch? I could see the lever to release the spider jack getting released accidentally by many things in the work place while a friction hitch is much harder to...

    New Tribe Nikosi

I've been climbing with the Nikosi for almost two years with no complaints. It's comfortable and very easy to adjust. With two gear loops, two accessory loops, two carabiner loops, and two snap hooks you won't run out of places to put gear.

60ft lift dwarfed by Eastern Cottonwood

They only appear arched because the contour roam helmet cam has distortion towards the outside of its field of view. Thanks! I'll be sure to tell the photographer you liked it.

    Foot ascenders

I tried something new today and put my cmi foot ascender over my spike, it worked but the ascender was at a slight angle which isn't ideal but worked for my 30 Ft ascent.

60ft lift dwarfed by Eastern Cottonwood

Fortunately I am not stupid enough to rig them..... they were dropped with a tagline into the dirt below. Also butt rigging a pine tree is much different than a cottonwood..... and if the grounds man knows how to let them run it could be done safely.

    Strength of your groundie

tree work+dumb=accident I have a groundsman that's 125lbs of pure muscle, can handle a 3120xp on spikes, runs a brake with perfection and can drag brush all day! But not all 125lb men are created equally. Also I have a part time guy who you could call and ox "fireman" who works hard, knows...

thoughts or opinions on pricing the removal of multiple trees?

I would bid the pair at 675 without stump removal. But I wouldn't use my lift just a tag line and a notch towards the street. With the right equipment this job will take my 2 man crew 4hrs.. the pecan wood is awesome for smoking everything from salmon to burgers. But you have to set prices based...

Stihl 150 -vs- Husqvarna Battery powered T536LiXP

T536LiXP = Extremely efficient After I saw the T536 on YouTube beating the new Husqvarna arborist saw I had to get one. But it turns out dealers in the states aren't expecting them until 2014, so I had to ship it over seas and it was worth every dollar. The efficiency of not having to start a...

    Pole Saw recommendation

I don't have any experience operating the echo power pole saws but the prices are right and they have multiple models from 7' to 16'. I am looking at purchasing the ECHO PPT-280 it has a telescoping shaft that extends to 13' with an optional 3' extension. As for Husqvarna I've been running an X...

    Jonsered at TSC

Went to TSC in Lincoln yesterday, turns out all they carry now is Jonsereds, I guess they like the superior color scheme also! As for servicing I didn't find out who provides service but I would assume TSC doesn't. But the prices were high.. Asking $700 for the 2166 Ulticor a saw my dealer...

No climber on this job, despite the lift being out of its league the tree was easily dismantled with some precision notches.
