    Bar Repair?

    If you had access to a belt sander you could resurface it yourself and the bar closer watsonr mentioned does a nice job. Search on here there are a few threads concerning bar repair.

    Newbie with saw questions

    A Mcculloch 610 is a good all round bucking saw. Can usually find for cheap. What I keep around are a small 35cc for limbing and climbing a 60cc for bucking and general tree falling and an 80cc for the big stuff. All Macs. You'd be surprised what a Mac 160 can cut.

    Make sure no wires are pinched in good shape with no cracks. If you done all that work to it might as well replace what wires you can with new. I had just a small break in the points wire on a 10-10 and it done the same after i replaced the rope in it. New wire all good now.

    Nick around here I would guess the ethanol lvl is alot higher as after about 3 days the ethanol has started gathering water. I can leave a pint of it and usually overnight you can see alil separation. Finally found a station with non eth gas.

    Have you ever got your vehicle where it was about to run out of fuel. Won't happen too often with fuel injected but the old carb cars alot of times would surge. This is a result of too much air not enough fuel. Air don't run out so the carb will keep sucking in air causing a leaning of the mix...

    Need some advice on getting parts for a D44. What I need right now just to get it running is rings and the RH starter plate. As you can see from mine it's missing the pawl springs.     Mark I may have to get a few parts from you next month to get it back together. Can not pull the pins out the starter pawls and the piece is welded to the clutch. Can not find rings any where.

    You tell me we'll both know some sort of brass plug. Someone with a welder "fixed" a few things that shouldn't have been welded. It's rough but I believe salvageable.

    Got the D44 yesterday it's alot worse than described. All that was stated was wrong with it was a busted flywheel cover and air filter cover.     I got one for a 10-10 it was just a hair off alil sandpaper fixed it the other I bought as a backup it was way off you could see what I assume was the line the machinist was supposed to use for bore size. It just must be my luck.
