    US Forest Service Fire Lookouts

Recently installed a 2 pulley counterweight for the trapdoor on an L6 (16' x16') 62-67' high tower for the GF, who's been 32 Summers on manning several different ones.. The FMO was happy & likely cause he didn't have to do it. *grin* Get Caught up would love to put a 2-3 story on my own place...

10 - 12 inch on the small end on the littlest ones Smaller, one can waste around with higher overhead and recover a few Bd. feet / Customer wise any under 10" & these are by an hourly rate / firewood mostly for myself unless little taper w/ tighter growth rings. Moving trunks advice

With the perimeters stated, have you toyed around the option of setting up a Gantry crane to feed / lift logs onto the mill and cut lumber back onto a trailer. Assuming still using the neighbors equipment for placement. What i use a Case 580K backhoe rated just under 5200 lbs on the 4 In 1...

    Spencer logging tape repair service?

My 2 cents likely 2 bits now days in extending the service life of any steel tape even new out of the wrapper is to run them out and apply an automotive car wax Turtle Hard Shell is a favorite. Even new will slick & speed them up, then reapply as needed. In a welding / fabricating environment...

Attachments for pushing over leaning trees

The ‘truss’ is sometimes referred to as a Bridge & May be a good idea to consider. Another couple things also The end stinger could be wrapped akin to the receiver hitch on a tow vechicel approx 3/4 “ to prevent any of the loading stretch of the attachments. Off the end of each fork pockets...

Water mist cooling to help prolong life of rings and pistion life when milling ideas.

Enough in a portable tank like this to blow a saw off 2-3 times, & if more is needed in the field 12v air compressors aren’t that expensive.

140” bar advice on bar sag

Seemly about the only perspective left might be to Rethink on these wide slabs is the technique of how the wedges are applied.... (& Center kerf support in narrower thickness..) Too much lift may allow the natural belly in the bar to track that way....

Hopefully BobL will chime in & perhaps provide a link on this. Here’s something in theory only as a 5’ bar has covered my needs / uses so far. A holder to screw into the end of the log holding a stick of wax on the leading edge underneath of the bar with a star knob to adjust it upward to take...
