    Chipper Property taxes

I totally agree. They sent me a personal property tax bill for my old trailer for my stump grinder because they were under the impression it was my stump grinder. I went in there with a friendly face and resolved the issue. If you machine is truly worth less than they assessed it at you should...

    Multi Tip cutter system

Just checked out the website and it looks interesting to say the least. I’m not crazy about he tooth being all once peice. I am in rocky conditions and the best thing about green teeth is being able to rotate and change teeth quickly. Often I’ll scrape a rock on only one side of the wheel...

Want to Buy Carlton 4012 Blade attachment

Carlton made a push blade that slides over the cutter wheel of a 4012. If you Google it, no one has any info on it and you cant find it for sale anywhere. Let me know if anyone has one!

Stump Grinder Decision Carlton 5014 Vs. Rayco RG55

I have a 2014 4012 with a 44 kubota and I love it. I have the wheeled unit, but obviously they are pretty close aside from the 10 extra inches of sweep and the 2 inches of depth in the 5014. Not sure what you were running before, but this was a game changer for me. I was running a rayco 1625...

Electric Clutch for a Rayco 1620 Super Junior

Bad battery or stator? I had an issue with my old Rayco once, I took too big of a bite and stalled it pretty violently, after that I couldn't get it started. Turns out I knocked all the magnets off the flywheel and needed to replace that and the stator. We were able to get it fired up by...

    Fecon Stumpex

Seems like a decent idea for a place like an orchard or tree farm, but for a lot of the stump jobs I get in a daily basis, I wouldn’t be able to use it.

Carlton 2500-4 stump grinder hydraulic leak

I just had one rebuilt for I believe 350 ish from American hydraulic. They overnighted it to their pump house in NJ and overnighted it back to me. I was back up and running in 3 days. Taking the motor off yourself will save on labor. A new one is obviously an option as well, as it’s only an...

    Vermeer stump grinders, questions

On a 252 once you dull the teeth you will want to change them. The lower hp machines need sharp teeth to be effective. After some experience you will know when you break a tooth as there will be some vibration in the controls. Broken teeth need to be replaced right away or you will do damage...

    Carlton 4012 Bearing play question

I'v noticed recently I slight vibration in my controls lately. I inspected the wheel, and found that one side has larger wear than the other, so I am under the impression that was causing the vibration. I am just about to hit 500 hours on the machine. Yesterday I noticed I am having side to...

    Stump Grinder advice

I love my 4012 44hp diesel. My next machine will be a 5014 44hp diesel with all the bells and whistles. I cant beat the maneuverability of that machine and the power it packs.

    Hydraulic Drive Motor for SC292

I had a hydraulic drive motor for one of the tires rebuilt this year. I think it cost me just about $330 bucks. I believe it was american hydraulics, there is a shop by me in CT but they ended up shipping it to their pump shop in NJ. As I type that I realize you're in Oregon so that wont help...

    Carlton 4012 crankshaft seal leak

it would appear that the radiator fan side of the crank shaft on my Carlton 4012 44hp is leaking oil. Right now it isn't too bad. Just a drip every 30 seconds or so but I'm sure it will only get worse. Anyone replace a seal before? Looks like the radiator and fan have to come out as well as...

Hydraulic leak from a drive wheel on a carlton 4012

Update: I ended up taking it off, not hard at all disconnect the lines, and then its just 4 bolts then knock it out with a rubber mallet. I took it to a hydraulic shop a town away from me, they had it for 2 days, rebuilt it with a new seal kit and then I was good to go. $320 with tax. Had I...

Hydraulic leak from a drive wheel on a carlton 4012

Awesome. Exactly the advice I was looking for. If I end up taking this thing to the dealer I know I'm not escaping for less than 500 bucks if I'm lucky.

Hydraulic leak from a drive wheel on a carlton 4012

My carlton is leaking just a drip now, but its getting worse. It is coming from where the wheel spins on the hub, not any of the hoses. I am hoping its just a seal, but who knows. Does anyone have part #'s or manuals on those things? I cant find anything.

    Reputable Equipment Financing

Stay away from DLL financial if they pop up. Shady business practices. Tons of fine print, and they are slow sending bills but quick to charge any late payments. Also very hard to get a hold of.

    Carlton stump grinder scraper blade

Does anyone know where to get a Carlton scraper blade like the one pictured here? It seems like it attaches and detaches easily, and I love that it's on the front of the machine vs in the back so you don't have to turn around to use the blade. Has anyone used one before?

700 series Green Teeth on 2016 RG45X stump grinder

Hey bob- I had a greenwheel (which uses 900 series green teeth) on my old 1625 and when I upgraded to a used low hours 4012 that had 1100 series green teeth on it, I decided to buy 900 series pockets to accommodate all the used and new 900 series teeth I still had in stock. I was surprised at...

    Greenteeth Wearsharp

If you hit rock, the teeth will still dull. I have no idea how they work but they seem to re hone themselves in hard stumps. I still am able to sharpen them after they dull to a point where they wont cut efficiently. Unless I total them in rocky soil which happens.
