I mix 100LL avgas if it has a non-catalytic muffler, and try to use synthetic oil (but also need to burn through the non-syn until it's gone). A couple of the saws have a catalytic muffler, and that prevents me from using leaded fuel (100 LL). Don't know where to get non-ethanol fuel here...
Problem solved. Runs well. I want to thank all those who helped me fix the old Lombard Super Lighting and get it back in service. Especially want to thank 67L36Driver for his expertise. The link to the other thread...
This photo show the thread left from the tap that I used to extract the sleeve, and the collared end of the sleeve is on the outlet opening of the elbow. In other words, this is the way you line it up and stick it in, the duckbill having been inserted in the left end of the sleeve as shown. I...
This picture shows the ledge inside that the rim of the duckbill rest against when inserted bill first.
The junk inside is residue from the original duckbill check valve. Probably was a rubber part that disintegrated.
I used a die to pull the brass collar out of the iron elbow. Had to put the elbow in a vice and tap on the vice grip that was clamped onto the square end of the die. It was tight. It goes in snug, and the raised collar will clamp it in when I press the sleeve back into the elbow. You get one...
I ordered
Husqvarna Part Number 530026119 Valve-Check (Duckbill)
it came up on Amazon from Jack's Small Engines for $5.32. We'll see if it fits when I work on the saw and get it apart.
Part location. Note oily muffler. I think it's the part to the right of the oil fill cap. The left elbow is probably where oil pressure goes in from the manual oil pump on the handle.
Great info. The article you linked to has great info. and detail, including pictures of the parts. Plus, the parts numbers are named. Appears to be item 42 on my IPL.
Thanks a million! I'll look for the parts and give it a try.
Thanks for reply. It's not the mix. It's the way the saw is made that bar oil gets drawn into the crankcase. There's a check valve that is supposed to keep it out somehow, and I need to fix that part. I have the IPL but can't figure out yet where the problem is. Other people have talked...
I want to repair my Lombard Super Lightning. I saw an old post about this problem, but not sure about the parts or what to buy. My saw smokes like a mosquito fogger, and has as long as I can remember.
I have the IPL, need to see what part to fix. (Happy to share IPL if anyone is interested...
