Huskee 28 ton = 12 second cycle time?

Ok, several topics in this now... As far as ericjeeper's comments: Tongue redesign is something that has been considered. Something is in the works, however as you mentioned, cost constraints are an issue. Everything you mentioned has been addressed on design and prototyping, but I can't...

Huskee 28 ton = 12 second cycle time?

Which model is it listing the 12 second cycle time? We don't list the Huskee models on the SpeeCo website, what SpeeCo sells to other customers and what TSC buys as Huskee splitters are not always the same, we do some changes to meet their needs and wants. Let me know which model you are...

    Huskee 35 ton 12.5 hp B/S

Hey guys, saw this thread so I will offer my input. The big Briggs motors are tough to pull over. We offer an electric start version for that reason, but it's not commonly stocked by stores. On the big Briggs motors (10.5 and 12.5) the recoil assembly has some slack in it the way it it...

    wood splitter hydraulic valve

That is an Energy valve, if it truely did come from us, it has the relief valve set at 3100 psi and is open center. A 27 ton should probably have the 3400 psi valve (I'm not 100% sure what Troy Built's are set at, but for a 4 1/2 inch cylinder that's what the valve should be to make 27 tons)...

Huskee or Brave log splitter purchase?

It's been implied here that you know what the valves, pumps, and other components are rated for. I'm here to tell you as one of the engineers responsible for the design of the SpeeCo (and Huskee) splitters that there are some false statements in your post. The relief pressure on the valves...

Huskee or Brave log splitter purchase?

Interesting, wonder where you got your information. The valves are spec'd out at either 3100 PSI or 3400 PSI for most of the log splitter manufacturers, which puts the tonnage ratings pretty close to actual from most of the makers. Have you run a pressure gauge on many of the splitters? Which...

Most Huskee Log Splitter Toe Plates Are...

You've got to remember, Speeco doesn't sell to people who uses splitters, and knows that speed matters. They sell to a buyer who is in charge of all powered equipement and may or may not have ever run a splitter, but wants a splitter at $xxx, $xxxx, and $xxxx...

    45 ton splitter

2.5^2x3.14=19.63 square inches. 19.63x3500=68,722 pounds force from the cylinder...pretty close to 35 tons. Yes, the pump does and will put out 3500 psi.

    New splitter

It's also possible that somebody in marketing said something like we need a bigger splitter, engineer said we can't get any more tonnage, marketing said ok, put a bigger motor on it... Wait, I didn't say that marketing forced a design decision did I???:taped:

    New splitter

Numbers game Both are identical, use the same pumps, same valves set at the same pressure, same size cylinder. It's a numbers game, all components have a tolerance, do you assume the pressure is at spec, or at top of tolerance? The Northern looks scary to me (I saw one in person) the wedge...

    New splitter

Changing the pump won't change the tonnage rating unless you also change the pressure the system runs at. Don't know what the hydraulic set up is on your shear, but the get 40 tons out of a 4 inch cylinder (that's what the 22 ton models use) you would need 6300 PSI...that's not something that...

    New splitter

All TSC Splitters are built by Speeco. The manager at the store was adament about that, said they aren't interested in carrying the MTD. After comparing the 2, I can see why. Here's a link to Speeco's website with the Huskee manual. http://speeco.com/pdfmanuals/logsplittersmanual-g.pdf...

    New splitter

Looking at a new splitter, have some questions. Looking at the Speeco (TSC Huskee) 35 ton. It looks good, new design this year, cast foot plate, optional log catcher. The guy at the TSC store said that they have an electric start coming soon, is it worth waiting for? I read that the old...

    Splitter Mods New Tonnage Rating?

Probably because your old pump wasn't putting out full pressure. Either your motor was weak enough that it couldn't turn the pump to full pressure (what it sounds like) or your pump was worn and not producing full pressure, or both.
