338xpt PROBLEMS: oiler, idling, tuning, etc..

Oiling piston out? It can only be removed if the adjustment screw is turned out completely. If you reassemble the case make sure the gasket is in the correct position (not turn it 180 degrees) and use a new gasket if the old one is worn. No need to use a liquid gasket.

    338xpt revving

I rebuilt a 2008 Husky 338xpt but I can't seem to get it run right. It runs too rich and if I turn in the H-adjuster the limiter kicks in at 8-9 K rpm. According to the specs it should run at 13800 RpM. New carb repair kit has been installed, new spark plug.

    Ms460 dies under load

    compression?
  7. erikvr

please help me figure out what to do with my ms660.

A spark plug coming loose several times could indicate that the cylinder thread is worn. A loose plug causes bad compression and false air.

    Opinions on a 262xp purchase

Brake handle is in an odd position, maybe a faller or a broken spring.

    Anybody got tennitus?

One ear high frequency constant pitch, other a lower on-of ringing, probably caused by motorcyle driving. Try to ignore it as much as possible. After half a day of chainsaw use I experience sound- sensitivity for a couple of days. I wear earplugs and - muffs.

    Jonsereds 630 2 piece ignition

I have a 630 with a bad two pcs. ignition. Flywheel and ignition for the one piece type have different PN's. I'm looking for aftermarket parts to repair it, so can I replace it with a one piece ignition and use the one-piece type flywheel? Or can the flywheel stay on? thx

    Husqvarna 66

it's a farmer saw, so the current Husqvarna 460 Rancher would match. <edit> mislooked on the displacement , 66 cc.

    Husqvarna 268 open port

It will work fine with a windowed piston, a closed port cylinder however will not work optimal with a non-windowed piston. http://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/windowed-piston-versus-non-windowed.75769/

Why are you passionate about chainsaws?

Chainsaw itself; dangerous, powerful, mechanics, lots of variables which make error searching fun. Felling a tree; finally get to use your repaired chainsaw!

Only the spark-plug may sound disappointing but over time you will encounter new challenges ;)

    5100s with 3/8 20" chain question

3/8 or 0.325"? If you bury it in wood it won't have much power left with 20" IMO
