    New Chain Sharpener

I had 2 Oregon chains 20" & 2 Stihl 24" chains that were bought together. I took 1 of each brand & had sharpened by grinder & the other 2 I used my Timberline. I was shocked that the Timberline chains held up very good vs the ground chains. I also had 2 old beat up chains with very little...

    Some people

When I encounter ppl like this, I usually will say "Thank you for your concerns & interest in my life, God Bless. I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers" & I carry on. It's amazing how good it works.

    First Fire of the Year

It was a joke & don't worry, I'm no scrooge when it comes to burning wood. My kids boast to their friends that they are usually running around the house in shorts & a tank in the middle of the winter.

How would you feel about a nation wide wood burning appliance change out?

LOL & more LOLing. Of course the IRS will be the agency to monitor it & sure as hell audit your wood stack. That can only lead to redistribution of your wood stack to your fellow neighbors.

    Stihl 390 help

Think I've got it fig'd out. Had to tinker w/carb & adjustments. It was definitely weird. Saw was running great then that happened. Maybe I bumped the saw while cutting down that yellow birch & didn't realize it.

    Stihl 390 help

I've got a 390 w/modified muffler. Last night while cutting into red oak I noticed a few sparks & thought it odd since it was new chain. When I seen them fly again I realized they came from the muffler. I immediately shut the saw down & took a look at the spark arrestor & it was clean. Well...

    Done with hydraulics!

Nice build. Pump size? HP? On my build that's where I failed, but I was on a tight budget.

    Aussie Willow Tree

Any info on this fast growing tree would be a great help. Is it easy to fall? How does it burn when dry? I might take on a job dropping a bunch. I can burn the tops on site. Thanks to all for any info!!

    Done with hydraulics!

I'm looking at the Super Split & DR Splitter. My question is just how durable is it? My hydro might not be the prettiest or the fastest, but I know it can get the job done with little or no trouble. But that Super Split sure does look slick.

    Did a little cutting today

I spent the day in the woods also. My pile I need to split, a little over 3' high, 35'long & about 3-5' wide. All oak, Ash & Hickory. I'm exhausted, was by myself. And got a nice sunburn for my effort. On the plus side I came home 5lbs lighter. LOL

    name that wood

KUUMA VAPOR FIRE 100 wood furnace results

I'm looking to replace my oil furnace next year. This definitely has my interest but it is expensive. I currently use an older Aurora insert & it does great keeping my 2000sqft home warm. My furnace has only kicked on maybe a dozen times last 2 yrs. But it goes thru a lot of wood. Plus, I'm...

    So I built another splitter...

I built mine similar, not nearly as nice or commercial looking. I'd just rather pay the man to build it for me, it's a lot of work: msp_biggrin: I'm thinking of upgrading mine in the spring.
