    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

No genius here just use what works for me. Been mixing fuel for years with them for many different applications just measure oil and pour in your gas can then measure your additive, swirl it around and dump it. Cleans bottle real good, no funnels no rags no messing around, put cap on and done...

Baby bottles work great for measuring. And got a lid to keep dirt and stuff out when not in use.

    Poplar- Is it worth it?

I know a lot of people that think poplar is a soft wood but it is actually a hardwood just a softer grade on a hardwood scale.

    blowtorching

Don't know for sure. I always thought they were locus or cicada larva. Just know fish love all kinds of larva and grubs.

Some people can't read -or- they're just twits

How about a place to stay while I do it and a tractor trailer to haul it back to Pa. when I'm done? Of course I would need a little time off to fish while I'm there.

Advice on getting heat upstairs .

Good advice, it sounds like you have numerous problems with your install. Don't think I would have the same guy try and fix it. Pic would help us understand more of what you have.

Couldn't have said it any better. My 35 ton will chew wood up and spit it out like a mad dog.

Received the Englander 28-3500 wood furnace yesterday

Might want to look into heat entering back into your gas furnace and burning out your heat exchanger or other components on your gas furnace. Did your fan in your gas furnace kick on with your last set up?

Received the Englander 28-3500 wood furnace yesterday

The main trunk of my duct work has a baffle in it to prevent the heat from the wood furnace to back flow into the gas furnace.
