    Please identify These saws

Thank you, I have searched "L" Logos with "Lightning Bold" on logos, searched vintage saws on ebay and google to no avail. I believe I have seen a picture posted here before but that was a long time ago. Thanks for your input.

    Flippy caps going BYE BYE?...

Marketing ploy I figured the flimsy, leaking, hard to use flippy caps was simply a marketing ploy where they can Stihl more money from their customers. Really, you shouldn't have to pull your gloves off to simply refill your tanks. Poor design. On the old saws you never had to buy another cap...

    Pioneer chainsaws

Pioneer 1200a Fuel line Hi, I am looking for help on replacing the fuel line inside the tank. Do I have to take the saw apart or can I simply unscrew the fitting going through the front of the tank that connects to the carb? Thanks for any help.

    Small gasoline transfer pump needed

I just use a funnel and pour it back in. I don't bother to run it dry though, that seems like overkill and a waste of fuel. I leave fuel in my el cheapo sears blower and poulan weed eater all off season and they never fail to start. I did have to replace the fuel lines though. But I think the...

Tips for bucking and felling THE RIGHT WAY

I always use a small wedge and place it in the kerf as soon as I can insert it in without a chance of the chain hitting it. A couple taps with the heal of my hand is all it needs to keep the kerf open. I have never had a pinched saw using this method. When I reach the bottom of the log I slow...

just bought a 395xp, the chain brake handle is very flimsy feeling:/

Unfortunately, you are at the mercy of a servicing dealer that may or may not have the expertise to figure out what's going on. At the most he won't wait for Husqvarna tech support to come by his place and troubleshoot it for him. Instead he should be able to call and get it expedited which...

    1/3 Diameter Notch Rule

I agree with SawTroll, I'm sold on wedges and stick with the basics. If your a novice you shouldn't be cutting trees on a windy or rainy day. Or if your a pro for that matter. Well placed wedges in the back cut will keep you from looking like a fool I don't care how straight the tree is...

    How many of you...

I have five saws but I do not have an addiction... no wait... I have six (just inherited a echo 440 from a friend). Maybe I need to go see a doctor?

Is there anyone willing to try this one out?

I'll stick to the old way of doing it... I'm afraid I'll hurt my back taking the tire off and on.

A question for Stihl guys and also anti-Asian folk

You can boycott products 'till your blue in the face, You can cry about NAFTA all you want, You can cry all you want about American jobs being sent over seas, but the fact is it's the way things are. You can blame politicians all you want but look no further than the companies that lobbied for...
