Want a new saw was thinking 562xp?

I love me some 70cc saw but would kinda like a running lighter weight saw. How do these two saws (461 and 562 respond when ported? I know there is a 461 for sale locally for $650 in decent shape. Keep in mind guys this is a mess around saw that I in no way need but I decided to sell my 660 and...

Want a new saw was thinking 562xp?

Great stuff guys and thanks. Kinda been looking at the 562 for a while. How about the 461? Never been around one, wondering if it's a saw worth looking at?

Want a new saw was thinking 562xp?

Been a while since I posted but looking to buy a new saw. Want it to be a strato saw in the 60-70cc area. Was thinking maybe 562xp. Anything else that is worth looking at? What sorta serial numbers/manufacture dates do I need to be looking at on the 562 to be sure I get all the carb updates etc?

    New old friend

Did it just return from a Carribean vacation? How do the Stihl Light bars compare to the Oregon RW BTW?

Well done! Both good saws, you should be very happy with them. Have fun!

    Price check--Husky 562XP

Could not agree more! Add in a little training for the people that sell their saws too. Simple things like "this is how you put on a chain" and "now eventually someone will ask you what this little button on the side is, you can tell them it is a decompression valve." How about this, when you...

I agree, an inboard cluth is a good thing. 346xp has an outboard clutch.

You can run .050 on any saw. If that is what you want, ask for it when you buy the saw, they should swap the bar and chain. edit: I guess I should mention that in .325 pitch, which is likely what would come on the 261, the .063 gauge might be more popular. Probably best to go with the guage...

Considerations as I head to the dealer and online

I see the generic picture in the manual depicting an outboard clutch as most of the other Husky saws are, but my 372 is an 08 model and it is not an outboard clutch. To my knowledge those saws have always been inboard clutches as are the new x-torq version. Here is a thread with pics of the...

What????????? Your 7 year old kid's chucking the 700 lb rounds in the truck cause you let him handle the little stuff and your not Macho? Well I think you might just be a......................................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO43p2Wqc08

OTD price was basically the same for 372xp and ms362? The 6400 should have a compression release, it is a little blue button in a cutout in the starter side of the top cover. It should also have the same choke and run/stop setup as the Husky saws? The protrusive filter sounds like the saw...

Yeah! To hell with your back, conserve the saw.:hmm3grin2orange: I thought that's why we bought power saws instead of hand saws? Unless you have a seven year old then your set. The debris/waste also stunt doubles on occasion as a paper substitute in the stove, and mulch for the plants.

Considerations as I head to the dealer and online

The way I understood the OP was that he had 9 acres of land, on which existed a mature sheltert belt containing mostly 12"-24" wood. Not 9 acres of shelter belt with 3-4' trees. I doubt very seriously that a 60cc/90cc saw combo would be the most efficient allocation of resources in this...

Considerations as I head to the dealer and online

The newer style air filtration is far superior and will not need attended to anywhere near as often. The new saws also have sprung AV mounts which are a marked improvement too. I thought the 441 was a snap type cover? All of the Husky saws have a similar system. Easy to remove with a...

Considerations as I head to the dealer and online

I did not mean rule them out, just that it would be better to purchase a 50cc or 70cc saw if the plan is to eventually own two. If you are going to own one saw, I think that a 60cc saw is the the way to go. In fact in the description of the 562xp on the Husky website they recommend 16"-28"...

2011 New 55cc Husqvarna XP chainsaw in catologue, not online :/

I have only had the chance to talk to one rep (Husky) and he was great. Had no probs saying "Uhhhh....... I don't know let me call and ask so and so," then comes back with a respectable and informative answer. Great guy, so they aren't all that way.

I thought the article did a fairly good job of explaining those things? The rev boost sounds like a tweak to the rev limited coil to me and the captive bar nuts thing is tops in my book. I'm pretty sure the 261 has those as well.

Objectivity is sometimes a difficult thing to find around here, though this thread has been very good so far! The only thing that will be overly complex about this situation will be your own over-analyzation. That's not a bad thing because most of us began here the same way. There really are...
