    husqvarna 45 will not oil

The pumps wear out. Baily's has them for about $35. I think I wore out the original and 2 more.

Just roached a new Meteor cylinder on my Husky 395, ticked off.

My buddy was an AMS oil dealer back in the early 80's. He had a Yamaha IT175 he ran 100:1 since it was almost new. I had a 400 yamaha I ran it in also. Along with several chain saws. We had no problems at all. That was before they had seperate types of oil for 2 stroke engines, Sabre and...

Stihl 200 T slow to idle after being in the cut

Tank vent it was. Little foam filter inside plastic vent unit had fine sawdust covering the 5 or 6 small holes where the air is pulled in. A little hard to figure out how to get the vent apart. Thanks Nmurph.

Stihl 200 T slow to idle after being in the cut

Fairly low hour saw. If I rev it up and let off it idles down fine. After being in the cut it slowly returns to normal idle. Any inherent problem areas to look at? It has been trouble free up to now.

    Oil seperating from mix

I made 6 or 7 cuts in 8" ash waiting for it to clear the first time, then when it was still smoking I assumed something was wrong with the saw. The second time, with a different saw, I ran it a couple minutes before it cleared up and ran OK.

    Oil seperating from mix

Both saws were mosquito fog caliber smoke.

    Oil seperating from mix

I have never had a problem in the past. Using silver bottle Husky oil, 45 to 1, 93 octane. Fresh fuel, saws sat less than a month. Very smoky on start up. I shake the jug before filling saws, but have never shaken a saw. Bad gas or oil? Anybody else experience this?

    346 suddenly running rich

The dealer is pretty incompetent, plus I pulled the limiter caps and would rather not have to deal with anything negative. I have been a pretty good customer and sent some business his way. If the carb is shot I guess I will try that route. If it was something simple I would rather fix it myself.

    346 suddenly running rich

I looked at it and couldn't see that it was out of place. I know there have been some problems with sealant leaking. I should buy a hand pump to test carbs. Anyone know of a good pressure/vac tool? The only ones I have seen are just vacuum. I know you can make the pressure tester, but it...

    346 suddenly running rich

Yes, I didn't damage the screws. It went from running OK to very rich without me having changed anything. I am very careful not to damage anything.

    346 suddenly running rich

Checked the muffler - that's OK. Took the needle out and blew the passage out. Looked at Welch plug - long skinny one with rounded ends - didn't appear to be loose. Put it back together - still rich. Pulled limiter cap and turned it down to 1/2 or 5/8 before it picked up and didn't smoke...

    346 suddenly running rich

It's smoking, so I am pretty sure it's rich. How about the bubble vortex in the primer bulb? Is that normal? I never noticed it before, but I might not have been looking.

    346 suddenly running rich

Dealer kinda sucks. Last resort. Think the spark plug could be partially fouled? It was running a tad rich. Gotta get a tach. The new saws are a bit trickier to dial in the sweet spot.

TSC bar and chain oil burned up new bar!

For cold weather I pour some TSC bar oil into a another jug part full and add some diesel and shake till it is the right thickness. It doesn't take very much to thin it out.

    346 suddenly running rich

I went out to cut some firewood yesterday. 346 was running way to rich. It was a bit warmer out than it has been. I made a few cuts to see if it would warm up and straighten out. No. Ran back to shop and got a small screwdriver and turned H as far as I could with the limiter on. Still...

What tool for mixture screws on a new Husky 346

I did put it back on. It is easier to hit the slot on the limiter than the screw. Tuned it by ear and burned 1 tank. The flat electrode has a tan color now instead of white. Makes me feel better. Thanks for the help.

What tool for mixture screws on a new Husky 346

I found an older IPL, and it looked like the part the limiters slide into would come out if the carb was removed. That didn't work. A bit of a puzzle to get the carb off. It actually went together easier than it came apart. Not the norm. Anyway, once I had the carb in my hand, a pair of...

What tool for mixture screws on a new Husky 346

Mine must be a newer style. I threaded a screw in, and I can slide it in and out a bit, but no come off. If I cut the ear off that prevents me from richening a bit will that work?

What tool for mixture screws on a new Husky 346

It has a red cap blocking a good view of the screw. The plug looks too white and I would like to richen it up a tad. Runs fine, but I hear they come through on the lean side, and the color of the plug confirms it to me. They sure are trying to make things difficult.
