    MS180 help

At 100 psi, it won't run. Takes around 120 plus for a 2 stroke to pop. Something is wrong with his rings/rebuild.

Tank vent or coil problem likely.

    044 burned jug and piston.

I've also used a lot of after market parts not supported by Stihl. Your point? Have been rebuilding saws since 1987. Have yet to see a dealer bulletin mentioning using Meteor pistons, or anything other than OEM. You don't have to pretend to be such a know it all. Been around quite awhile and...

    044 burned jug and piston.

I've always just ordered 040/440 jugs off eBay and they never, TMK, have indicated wrist pin size in their advertisements. I've rebuilt almost all of my 044/440 saws with Meteor pistons, or the correct pin size used OEM pistons with zero problems. Just sharing my experience and apparent luck...

    044 burned jug and piston.

I guess me too. Have never bought a wrist pin specific size 044/440 jug and have built dozens without a single mishap. Guess I must have been unusually lucky?

    044 burned jug and piston.

Jugs are the same. The 10 vs 12mm is the diameter of the wrist pin.

    End of the big saws

Aussies and New Zealanders need the big CC saws for their huge tough ass trees. No way they'll not produce them, too much demand in that region of the world.

    Stihl Ms290 frozen

The bottom end bearings are the same part number as on the 075? They are extremely robust bearing for such a small saw. I've yet to encounter one of that series of saw with a problem related to the bearings. Almost all I've encountered have been burned up via straight gassing.

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

Ordering new carb from Ireland next week. Wish I had a known good carb to swap out. Well versed in how to tune saws. Been doing it many years now and so has my friend. Something internally is messed up with this carb. Idle circuit? Who knows? Done with it. Carb dip and ultrasonic cleaner...

Want to Buy 064 ready to cut wood

Have one rebuilt completely (spilt case, new bearings etc..) and new 32" bar and Still skip tooth chain. Offer, what I have in it, plus shipping. $550 plus shipping. It was a free saw to me and cost me just over that. All OEM, except exhaust?

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

Small engine mechanic friend, and bonafide mechanical genius of 30 years, placed the carb in his ultra sonic cleaner overnight. Saw now starts and runs like it did, but still will not idle. What the hell could it be? Back "L" out more and it floods big time. ??????//?

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

Not yet. Have to say the ones I've had in the past with an air leak all ran, just at high RPM's during idle.

Want to Buy Sachs Dolmar 143 muffler wanted

Bolt holes sure look right. Lucky dog! Sure wish there were a lot more Sachs Dolmar saws in my neck of he woods. Love the ease of working on them, just not the lack / scarcity of parts for the big saws.

    Small saw recommendation

Stihl 170 and get a Walbro wt194 for it off of EBay. $14?. That carb is fully adjustable and there is a tutorial here on how to plug the air filter box.

    New 261c in the fleet

I love my MS260 PRO, but find myself grabbing my MS170 most often around the yard and for pallet cutting. Getting old.

Remington Rodeo Pro - Will not start!

I wouldn't bet on it starting under any circumstances. Piston scored bad and likely the cylinder is too. Put it under the bench and wait until a saw comes around that has fallen from a truck etc..... then piece them together. If you decide to rebuild it without a cheap / free donor saw, you'll...
