    20" .43 gauge on a 60cc?

Oregon has some new .43 20" bars. I'm not trying to be a troll, maybe it's a stupid question but I haven't found any answers researching this kind of set up, except it's not advised to used 1/4 pitch .43 on 40cc+ but I'm talking about 3/8 pitch .43

    20" .43 gauge on a 60cc?

I like the way my smaller .43 gauge saws cut. I was thinking about putting one one my 60cc 460 rancher. Would this not be a good idea? The 460 has original 3/8 sprocket. I guess I'm just worried that 60cc would be too much saw for that little chain, and it might bust it? Thanks for any input...

    working alone

Yep, I often work alone. Not up to osha standards I'm sure, but safety is always #1 priority, I like the concept of mindfulness. I'm interested in going through the necessary hoops to get my Isa cert.

    How to clean moldy equipment?

Hey folks, I put the saddle and Spurs + ropes, hardware etc... In a plastic box for a couple months, couldn't work due to injury. They must have been wet because when I opened the box everything is covered in various molds. My plan is to take the bin down to the carwash, pressure wash it...

CS 400 oil leak near oil reservoir

Thanks, yeah I bet it is the o ring if that's the antivibe. That cap is all around wasted. Yeah she's dirty, she sat around for a while cause I have other saws, will be good to get her up and running again. Thanks again.

CS 400 oil leak near oil reservoir

I'm hoping this is an easy fix. The black cap just below the oil tank filler hole somehow came off and oil leaks out. I notice what looks like a screw adjustment inside the hole. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

    Petzl Grigri

I've had a petzl grigri for ten + years. I first used in for mountaineering applications, then rock climbing, now tree work. It is very useful, easy to use, tough, etc... I have trusted my life to it many times, and has never given me a scare. That being said it only works with certain diameter...

When use a wedge cut vs. offset cut when limbing

    Thanks for the info.

When use a wedge cut vs. offset cut when limbing

I know that when a limb is big or heavy and angled upwards, a wedge cut is the way to go. But if the angle is only slightly upwards and the width of the limb is about 5 inches, is there any reason to use a wedge cut and not a offset cut to take it down? Seems like often times on deciduous...

    Storm Work Tips and Tricks

Man that house with the tornado downed trees doesn't look that beat up, must have been strong construction and a bit of grace from lady luck. This was my next door neighbors place after a wind a few weeks ago. Just one tree, though he did make his house out of one by ones and sheet metal, gotta...

true danger of base cut? - pulling leaning alder with big come along

Thanks for your helpful thoughts. It is necessary sometimes because the alders often lean over structures. They are tall trees with little taper in the trunk and slightly brittle wood. Goes without saying they like to fall where they lean, I'm just influencing their lean. The leaners often will...

true danger of base cut? - pulling leaning alder with big come along

I've got some solid experience under my belt, and feel competent enough climbing with spikes or ropes. There are just so many darn leaning red alders where I live, people want em down, but I don't want to climb em cusa tha lean. I've had success shooting a line up high and then setting up a...

    Stihl recalls flippy caps!!!

I sorta got used to the flippy cap on my ms 192, but the plastic T that holds the oil cap to the saw when unscrewed and hanging broke the other day for no reason, haven't had the saw for a year yet. Easy enough to repair though.
