    Been a while and have been unable to get back on till now, Thanks for all the comments, They all sorta repeat what was said on the other forum URL i put up so thanks all n hope this posting helps others in future with regards to fitting a new cylinder/piston to a saw.

I'll strip the cylinder down this weekend and get the bore measured, from that I'll be able to figure out if it's an 024 or 024 super (mate of mine thinks it might be a 024 super so if it is then (please correct me) I can put a 026 cylinder onto the 024 bottom)...
