    Shindaiwa 695 throttle trigger

I got parts and lit the fire. It’s a really nice saw. I am going to put a 20 inch bar on it and smash some firewood this week.

    Shindaiwa 695 throttle trigger

I scored a minty shindaiwa 695 that needs a throttle trigger. I know parts are had to find, but does anyone have one or know what models interchange to this one?

Upper Michigan (UP) two saw plan

I have a 288xp I bought at the old Wenberg repair in dollar bay. Still run it. That country turned orange in the 80s.

Upper Michigan (UP) two saw plan

I grew up in Keweenaw County. We logged and cut plenty of firewood. I'd get a 562 Xp as a firewood saw. Frankly big firewood is more trouble than it's worth.

    J'red 630 handlebar

Ha. I just bought a cheap 266 handle for my 630. I like rhetoric saw but parts are a PITA.

    Makita/Dolmar parts in the future?

I saw a nice Dolmar for sale locally for $300. I passed. Figured I'd avoid the inevitable and stick to Husky.

    Grading softwood dimensional lumber

Where I live there is a massive amount of beetle kill white spruce, which could easily be sawn into dimensional lumber. The IBC requires that all lumber be graded. I could likely learn to grade lumber, and I've been told I may be able to approve lumber by virtue of being a licensed engineer...

    Tiny stove

Im a 25 year Alaskan. I have a remote cabin, and have been to many many others. I've done this at -50. Not figurative fifty below. Actual -52. So here are some observations from experience. 1) you need an oversized stove. I have a 12x16 with the exact stove as my house. When you get...

    DIY Outdoor boiler heat exchanger

I don't intend to cross the phase envelope, but it's certainly possible. The calculations are pointing me well away from that much temperature increase.

    DIY Outdoor boiler heat exchanger

Those of you who have built wood boilers, what did you do for the heat exchanger inside the boiler? I've thought of several ideas, but they all get expensive fast when you include all the giblets and gravy.

    60cc dilemma

I'd get a 262xp. I have two of them. Perfect saw for Alaska. I went to the Husky shop by the Big Lake turnoff on the Parks highway yesterday. They have a great selection of Husky saws.

buying used saws....which? profit or not?

My brother has been doing it for years. Your best bet is to flip them as is. Spend 30 mins or so assessing the saw (compression, spark, does it fire, etc) and toss it on ebay. Any Husky or Stihl will sell, but others sell as well. Don't bother buying Poulan, McCulloch, or Homelite unless you...

    Poulan 3700 compression numbers

I have a 3700 AV in Craftsman grey rhat runs when it runs, but hard starts at times. Good spark, just cleaned carb and put in new diaphrams. I can't seem to tune the hard start out. Actually got it going the other day and tuned it like a beast. 1 pull start and idled great. Then 30 minutes...

2100 cd vs 395xp for milling

Alright guys...I gotta make a decision. I have too many muscle saws and need to prune the fleet. 2100CD (2ea) vs. 395xp. I want to keep one of them for milling. After the pruning I"ll still have a 288xp, a 372xp, and a handful of smaller saws. I'm milling spruce less than 24" in diameter...
