Cut yourself a gasket out of a soda or beer can. Super thin.

Check the gaskets between the carb and cylinder. They have a small hole for the impulse.Make sure they are lined up proprly. If blocked will do what your describing.

I remember the build on that saw. You did a beautiful job!! Wish I had the patience for that kind of work. I understand you have a P65 that used to reside in my barn?
