$14 For A Stihl Rim Sprocket!!!

Thanks for the link. Understand it is an odd part but Husqvarna really should make commonly replaced parts available a reasonable price. Usually they are pretty good about it.

$14 For A Stihl Rim Sprocket!!!

I need a sprocket for a Husqvarna 525 pole saw. OEM is between $50 and 60. I could not find an aftermarket replacement. Part number is 537271501 if anyone has a source.

What to replace my 365s with

If it does what you need and is decent shape rebuild it. Good carb, good clutch, good muffler, good plastic, good oiler, seals, etc. Look up the cost of replacement parts. Those small parts add up fast. It is a good picnic table job for the spring. It is a lot of satisfaction.

    Chinese carbs... my experience

I will only buy a chinese knock off if there is no OEM carb available. I have purchased a number of them through Amazon and they are inconsistant. If you get a bad one, just return it for a refund. It is not your fault that the item was junk. Its easy and you get a FULL refund. No paying...

    Help ID this chain.

Help ID this chain. .05 gage 3/8 pitch. There is a 3 on each drive link and a single dot on the strap. You can probably see it in attached picture. It is probably either a Stihl or a Husky. I usually use only Oregon chains and bars this one is old and a mystery. Thanks John

Question: The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021

I plan to clean up the surface as much as possible and reassemble with a new drum and bearing. If the bearing fails again then I will replace the crank. I am not looking forward to another project.

Question: The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021

Thanks for the advice stihltech. Grease the needle bearing and periodically re-grease.

Question: The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021

I understand your point about the bearing not actually turning when the clutch is engaged. I often let it idle when not actually cutting anything. I found a sleeve bearing on Amazon that will fit. I will try that first see if it lasts. It can't make anything worse.

Question: The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021

It is a needle bearing. I am not sure how tolerant they are to a surface which not perfectly smooth. I am going to look for a sleeve bearing. It probably won't last long but it may be worth a try. I think got all the pieces out of the assembly.

Question: The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021

The clutch bearing failed on my Stihl 021. I found none of the bearings or the cage. Probably somewhere in the chips near my wood pile. Bad news is the crankshaft is kind of rough under the bearing. Is there way to repair it? A sleave or something of that nature? I can probably dress it up...

Does Stihl have a "used-on" list for it's parts?

You are saying Stihl calls it a "Where Used" list? Do you know were I can find a copy or a website? Thanks John

Does Stihl have a "used-on" list for it's parts?

It is a hard plastic loop which protects the tank on an HT 75 pole saw. It also acts as a handle. Not all of them came from the factory with one. They also tend to crack.

Does Stihl have a "used-on" list for it's parts?

What is a "used-on" list you may ask? It is term used in the aerospace (among others) industry. If you are handed a part, you can go the list and find which aircraft was it used on. It makes it easy to find bone-yard parts for reuse. Stihl probably has something equivalent but it may be...

Is metal stained oak desirable in a slab?

I sorta like it. Depends on where it is being used and the customer. Did the blade survive. It looks like the metal is awful deep in the log. What did you do with the rest of tree. Were you able to pull the metal out before the next cut?

Want to Buy Older model McCulloch chainsaw

I have a 25 yo Timber Bear that hasn't been run for a couple of years. It's in pretty good shape and has a good chain and bar. It is not my favorite saw and it never got much use. Heavy for its power, it has no chain brake and it is hard to start after sitting. It's always been that way. I...

    Is the website "www.stihl-usa.online" legit.

Hey "CATCHY MONKEY"!!!!!! Not sure which name you like best so I just chose one. Good call. Next time I will just ask the manufacturer. Someone spent a lot of time putting together a pretty good looking website. You would think he/she could get an honest job. John
