    Dolmar 7900 Carb upgrade?

Terry do you think that membrane could be a gasket to ensure the brass jet seals when pressed in place?

    Dolmar 7900 Carb upgrade?

Sweet. That is close to where I am, at about 3000, but cut up to 6000. Can't wait to play with the zama I have, just have to do the BB kit first.

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

Next I will measure the ports to see if they are dimensionally the same or bigger to go with the bigger displacement and then determine the amount I need to port from there. I put in the heat shield and found the top of the port will need some cleaning to match there.

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

I then installed the piston with no rings and bolted up the big bore kit. I noticed the two exhaust side mounting holes seemed slightly off so I might need to open them up slightly so I am not side loading the mounting bolts. Anyone know the torque for these bolts? Here are the numbers I...

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

So I started by finding TDC. I remounted my muffler so the mag base had something to grab and found a 6 degree spot the dial indicator did not see movement at the top so I made the assumption that TDC should be set to the middle. Then I got some duration numbers and squish for the stock saw...

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

So I got the main parts to the car wash and cleaned them well and built my degree wheel. For those interested I bought this "pro-wheel" off amazon because it came with the three spacers for attaching the degree wheel hoping one would work. One measured at just under 5/8" and the jojoba chuck...

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

Well it has begun. I carved some time out between working 6-12's and having two toddlers and found some free time tonight between midnight and 2:30am. I got the saw tore down as far as I can go without a puller and the right tool to remove the clutch. I know I have the puller at home but am...

Yeah terry has been a wealth of knowledge on this subject and the modded carb topic. I have a zama c3m I want to play with also to make this thing torquey.

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

I am going to try my hand at it. Between your threads, terry and others I have read on here I feel fairly confident I won't make it worse than stock. Hahaha

    Dolmar 7900 Carb upgrade?

Unless you could find a .375mm bit and be at .110 in area and just a tad rich. Or use the .35 and not be dead steady and probably end up with more near a .36 hole. Lol I do like the idea of the graph of what sizes work for what CC saws. You could even come up with a algorithm for the Fred line...

    Dolmar 7900 Carb upgrade?

Rich, have you looked for anywhere else to get that part number idle screw? I did some searching on my lunch break and found one site that had a list of carb models that needle came on. Seemed to be a lot of the c1a series if I remember correctly. I have it book marked at work, I will have to...

    Newbie's First Project- 365 special

Finally got to try her in some wood today and she did pretty well through a 24" stump I have been playing with. Finally can bog her down some with the 32" and a chain that is actually tuned. I recieved my big ore kit from weedeaterman kit and my Zama carb in the mail Thursday so I am excited to...

    Dolmar 7900 Carb upgrade?

Bare bones is good for the sleeper look too, especially with the 365 stickers still. Really surprise people what a "65cc" saw can do. Haha
