    Damage to 372xp

Couldn't be 51.4mm then if that's a Meteor cylinder...unless they started making them recently.

    Damage to 372xp

Could be. That same pic you can almost see the piston crown in the squish band area looks peckered up from debris. Definitely a bottom end failure of some sort. I'm waiting to see what the prognosis is for sure.

In my experience, when only or mainly the exhaust side of the piston is melted and leaves transfer on the cylinder, that is cause by a lean condition, usually an air leak. Yes, the exhaust side of the piston is the hottest. I the case of a lean condition burn down, it's the extreme combustion...

    Damage to 372xp

Straight gassing does not typically toast the exhaust side of the piston...that is a lean condition.

More heat on the clutch side due to that being the side that is loaded and with heat from the clutch. Not to mention I would expect the flywheel side to stay a little cooler due to the fan helping a bit too.

Bet you will find lower rod bearing is kapootski from straight fuel. In my mind, I can see the lower rod bearing being the first to fail from lack of oil because it doesn't "hold" as much oil to itself like the crank bearings can and it seems that it takes more of the up and down stress of the...

    Meteor/ Cabor question

I really don't think so. Closest side x side comparison I have been able to do was with two saws at my job, a bone stock 395 and a 394 I overhauled with a Meteor but did a BG delete. Side x Side the 394 does have more torque. But the BG delete can account for that. And then there is the...

    Meteor/ Cabor question

I don't know of any OEM uses of Wiseco pistons either, but......

    Meteor/ Cabor question

I can't with certainty that it is equal in quality to OEM because frankly, I don't have enough experience to make a claim like that. What I can say is that I've used at least a half dozen Meteor piston kits in rebuild for myself and others and have had zero issues with them to date. Something...

    working on husqvarna 55 saws

I recently rebuilt a CP 55 for a friend with Lil Red Barn windowed piston. Quality seemed good. Time will tell if it lasts for the long haul but based on my initial impression of it I would not hesitate to use one for myself if I had the need.

    372xp or 576xp?

I paid $829 plus sales tax at my local dealer for my XPW... A little fuzzy on the year though, I want to say 2010-ish.

    372xp or 576xp?

I've run both, own a 372XPW (the REAL XPW). Get a 372 while you can or wait for a 572.

    Husqvarna 435 questions

You should be able to cycle the chain (with a gloved hand) freely. A properly tensioned chain will have some drag but not be overly difficult to cycle. Not trying to insult your intelligence but just trying to cover the bases, did you verify that the new bar and chain pitch match that of your...

    40-1 mix in a 372 Xp and a 441?

32:1 in everything I own, from stock saws, to my ported saws, to my ATC's and old outboards. Why skimp on lubrication for all of the moving parts in the engine???
