Old cedar tree all of sudden browning all over.

Yeah, I'd look at roots or bark beetles first. Something disrupted the ability for water to get to the needles.

    Cornus kousa pruning

I'd probably cut at the red marks I made here. Next time I'd prune at the blue mark (and others after seeing growth). Only reason I wouldn't prune at blue is it would look very off balance and "empty" in the middle. Kousa can be a very nice "proper" tree. Yeah, its small, but they look best...

    F650 Curb weight?

If you need a weight, take something to the junkyard, don't ask for "free" weight...or to the landfill, or go buy some stone.

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

Ohio's exceptions are: Recreational vehicles... manufactured AS manufactured vehicles. So, for example, a converted Peterbilt doesn't count as I understand it...unless, perhaps, an RV manufacturer takes.the chassis and builds an RV on it, then titles it as such. A functional dump truck or...

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

Take some scrap metal to the junk yard or a load of trash to the landfill. Or buy a load of stones. They all weigh before and after. I'd assume they all have audited scales - they have to be certified by the county here.

    aftermarket ignition coil MS261 M-tronic?

Mine ended up being the ignition wire. Replaced that and it's been good since for a year+ Probably gonna sell it though.

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

    A) Now I need the pipe bender...so thanks for that LOL B) I've gotten really nice tarps from Tarp Nation. Their "high strength mesh" tarps hold up covering a dump trailer load of brush several times per week with no tears and no lost grommets. I think I've have the current tarp for 17 months...

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

I don't doubt that there are some who either don't know or don't care what the actual laws are. Fortunately they are the few. Unfortunately, those few still have ticket books.

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

from Federal DOT: Class A*: Any combination of vehicles which has a gross combination weight rating or gross combination weight of 11,794 kilograms or more (26,001 pounds or more) whichever is greater, inclusive of a towed unit(s) with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross vehicle weight of...

    Jonsereds Bar

Do the bars have numbers stamped on them? That will tell bar length, chain pitch, gauge, and number of drive links. Do those chains you want to use fit the current bars and drive sprockets? If not, you may need to replace the sprocket for them to work. Easy enough to do if there is a...

Building Up Dumper for Chips: What are must have features?

Yes, sheet metal will be lighter than lumber. Aluminum lighter than steel..but also a lot more. A tarp on top will be lighter than a solid top and will allow for the air to escape as @jblnut suggested is helpful. As to the CDL issue, remember it is what the truck and trailer are rated for...

Pruning Advice Needed - Mulberry Tree

Yeah, past topping has done that tree in. I'm generally the one saying "keep it", but agree with others, time to replace. Are those seedlings in the background? IF you wanted to keep it...I'd probably cut those branches about where those arrows are in pic 1. The "right" place to cut them...

Any "ethical" ways to practice spiking up trees?

I was thinking that could be the case. Strange thread to dig up just to display ignorance.

I agree @Groundman One - I prefer cheap safety glasses. They're gonna get beat up or lost on the job site.

    Safety glasses recommendations

I really like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0744MVDSZ/ The antifog does decent. I have both clear and shaded versions. Can't feel them under earmuffs. I clean them with these anti-fog wipes. Not sure if that makes a big difference - I think keeping them clean is a big part of...

    Treating small diameter stumps

I was thinking just taping a pole to the scrubber you linked. But maybe attaching PVC to that could work well if I can get a good seal. Both longer reach and more capacity. Probably could do a ball valve between the PVC and the liked scrubber. Looks like there are some commercial poles for...

    Treating small diameter stumps

We do a bit of woodland invasive species management. One project we'll work on over the winter has quite a bit of smaller diameter stuff (1/4"-3/4" diameters). (Jetbead - this was a new one to me...but same question applies to other small diameter stems). Spraying those stumps always feels...
