    Stihl 100' Spool Cost Increases

Thanks for the replies. I'm staggered that you guys pay round US$300 per spool (approximately AU$375) for Stihl chain. The list price for a 100' spool of Stihl over here is AU$970, which is approximately US$705.

Is pull cord size some type of national secret?

If you hear a soft gentle hum overhead don't panic (indeed you won't have time to panic), as the drone will release it's guided missile momentarily afterwards. The secrets of starter cord sizes is only revealed to selected few deemed worthy to carry forth those secrets from one generation to...

    Stihl 100' Spool Cost Increases

Look I'm aware that Stihl chain is expensive here in Australia, in fact there has been two massive price hikes this year alone. In the past buying in bulk 100' spools did afford you some substantial reduction, however Stihl appear to have recently pushed spool prices through the roof over here...

Want to Buy Husqvarna 394 parts, anyone have good stock on parts?

I have a 394XP near complete (no piston or cylinder) which the owner has told me to sell. I don't think he wants much for the saw. Shipping the whole saw to the US may be a bit expensive, so if you give me a list of what you need and I'll try to help out.

Husqvarna 40 Rancher - What am I overlooking

Thanks for all the assistance guys it was greatly appreciated. After a suggestion from fearofpavement, it turned out the spur sprocket kit supplied had the correct part number, but for the later series Model 40, as opposed to the early series saw I was working on. There was a minor difference...

Husqvarna 40 Rancher - What am I overlooking

Thanks for the reply it's appreciated. The spring is in place, but I'm starting to think it may be a bad clutch, despite the fact it looks almost new. About to pull it down again tomorrow when I'm back in the workshop for a closer look.

    372xp scored piston and cylinder

If you are going down the 52mm big bore option, just a few hints on what to avoid. A few customers have brought in these Chinese aftermarket kits, with quality ranging from average to very poor. Piston rings were complete rubbish, many of the cylinders had off-set or out of shape inlet or...

Husqvarna 40 Rancher - What am I overlooking

Presently feeling like the Forest Gump of chainsaw repairers.... Customer brought in a mint condition 1986 Husqvarna 40 Rancher chainsaw, albeit with a minor piston scoring caused by bad fuel mix. Simple enough job, and an hour & half later the saw was running like new after a new piston &...

    Husqvarna 562XP Carburettor Conversion

Thanks for all the replies so far....Seems to be an even split between the "can be done" and the "can't be done" camps. I'm fortunate that I have 2 of these saws available so I can play Dr Frankenstein, and better still, a customer who simply doesn't care if the experiment is a success or...

I'm looking for a thread posted a while back and seeking assistance either locating the tread, or hearing from members who've converted Husqvarna 550XP and 562XP saws back to a conventional carburettor. I presently have (2) 562XP saws that are dead with a highly annoyed owner who spent good...
