I use it exclusively in all my small equipment. I mix up 2.5 gallons at a time and leave the rest for 4 stroke mowers and all. It stores incredibly well. I’ve seen it sit 2 years plus and it’s fine. I know the debates around it and it does contain lead so you need to be mindful of that.

If the saw was a light or lighter, ran as along on a “tank” of gas, and had the power I needed I wouldn’t care if it was nuclear powered and silent. In fact that would be pretty cool. That said (and it’s been said many times) if it’s loud and smoky it’s got to be fun!

Since I can’t stop.... walked through the local shop (also a hardware store which is why I was there) and they still didn’t have a mark 2 in stock. Had a few or the “regular “ 550s. Will be interesting to hear the feedback on these saws once folks here a running a few.

Drank the kool aid and got a used 346 here. Needed a lighter but still capable saw. When I saw how the weight went up on the mk2 I decided it wasn’t much if any lighter than my 359 but the 346 is. Been real happy with the ‘new’ 346!

Interesting thread as I had the same question... and now have the same conclusion- 550xp MK II. Waiting patiently. I stopped at the local dealer last weekend and they hadn’t seen one yet.

Always non ethanol gas for me too. Hate that ethanol unless it’s in my beer!

Down to my three last quarts of Mobil racing 2T. It must be eight years old. Love that stuff and run it in all my Stihl, Husqvarna, Dolmar, Echo equipment. Zero issues. I guess I’ll have to read all the oil threads when I get down to the last few ozs and wee what is next!

I really like my 359 but when doing the $$ calculations don't forget the $ 50 muffler tax on the 359. As soon as you run the CAT 359, you will want to ditch that muffler! The 357 muffler really helped mine but brought me another $50 closer to the price of the 357 or MS 361. Jeff in PA
