    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

**** I thought my truck was rusty, it's in pristine shape compared to you nothern folks' vehicles. I always forget about my sawzall, maybe it's because I love seeing sparks when I cut things. Next tool for me is a Chinese made plasma cutter so I can see it explode while I'm cutting something.

Yeah I loved going there, never knew what I would find. My son liked to go too and see the huge piles of metal although I’m amazed they allowed kids to walk around. The other scrap yards near me are the same, no one’s allowed to walk around the yard. Had I known they were going to close I...

Ouch. Read about stories where cutoff wheels shattered and sent sharp pieces into heads. After that I don’t mess around, I wear eye pro, my chainsaw helmet with full face shield and ear muffs, welding jacket with leather sleeves and leather gloves lol. I use the grinder all the time while...

Not firewood related but anyone scrounge for metal? Used to have a great recycling place that sold metal for 27 cents a pound but they recently went out of business.

That’s a good, wholesome Friday right there. Wife, the kids and I had fun going to Tractor Supply then a Mexican restaurant that served a huge 32 oz margarita. Thankfully my wife was driving. What does this million dollar spaghetti casserole look like?

    Makita 6421 or EA6100

Yep lol. Called them up and it was as actually a 5600 I believe, didn’t pay attention to the model number once the first two digits wasn’t a 64. The manual showed 6421 and the the specs showed 64cc so it seems they dont change those things immediately.

Damn 82 in the Catskill mountains in April, sounds highly unusual lol. They're calling for 89 here on Thursday. I'm really not looking forward to tick season, they're really bad here. I think I'll have to break down and take this 6100 to a small engine repair guy if this carb rebuild doesn't fix...

It seems we’re about to skip spring and go right into summer weather, kind of sucks. I’ll take a bit of cold over hot and humid any day. Not sure what it is about this site but as soon as I come back to it I find myself shopping for chainsaws. Just placed a bid on a Dolmar/Makita 7900.

So weird to see your pics with snow/ice. We had no snow this year, first time that's happened that I remember. We usually get at least a day or so with some snow. When does it usually melt in MN? It was lower 80s here yesterday

    Makita 6421 or EA6100

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards acutally but was hoping someone would have experience with both to save me from CAD.

    Makita 6421 or EA6100

Anyone own/owned these two saws or ran them enough to get a good idea of the pros and cons? I have the EA6100 now, bought it as a used HD saw. I haven’t been able to really fine tune the carb settings yet, seems finicky compared to the 6421 I had. Just found a 6421 for sale at a HD near me for...

Anyone ever use scrounged logs to make lumber/woodworking material? Just built my wife a gardening bench and now I’m really interested in getting into woodworking. I’ve been messing around with MIG welding too, so many damn hobbies lol.

Canadian ketchup lol, I need to try some. Trying to convince my wife to take a trip to Canada but no luck so far. I’ll have to do some research and tell her I want to see their green houses or something

I need to get some of those fans and do a few unscientific experiments. You just made me look up "Canda tomatoes" lol. Evidently Canda exports a huge amount of produce, just learned something new.

lol. Nice wood stove scrounge! Do you think the fan makes a big difference with heat dispersion? Speaking of Canada, I was kind of amazed when I saw this tonight while making tacos for my kids: I believe that may have been my first Canadian tomatoes.

Is that an Englander wood stove? I had one like that, the secondary tubes have a really cool fire show. Also like that fan. Is that one of those heat powered fans? Always wanted anted to try one to push the heat away from the stove. Nice setup

All I have so far is my Beretta 390, love that shotgun. What do you have up there, wolves? Get a Maverick 88 for an HD gun. That thing is cheap, pump action, and made by Mossberg. What happened to signature thing anyway? The part that used to show the list of saws, I don't see it anymore. I...

Are you building one of those AR pistols? You may have mentioned it but there's too many messages to read through lol. I'm still trying to decide between the Sig P365XL, CZ75, or CZ SP01.

It eventually dies at idle and kind of bogs down at WOT sporadically. I’ve tried adjusting the carb based on an article and YT video but it’s still giving me issues. My old 6421 was really easy to tune. Just bought and put in a carb kit but it’s still acting up
