    30 ton splitter input

The first one sure looks like the northern tool splitter that I just bought. Works real good. Haven't been able to stick it yet. Runs along time on a tank of gas. If they're not the same splitter I'd be surprised. Mine cost 1599 if that helps.

    346 bogs in the cut

Talk about fast responses! I did look over as much of the fuel line as I could see. I did check the gas cap. Didn't matter. After I put the sea foam in it and ran it, helped. When It's in the cut it bogs down and smokes a little. If I take it out it revs real free, Only happens under load...

    346 bogs in the cut

Went out today to cut some wood and when i started using the 346 it bogs real bad. Sometimes the motor even will die. I dumped the gas and ran some sea foam through it. Helped alittle. I also pulled the fuel filter and it was real clean. It idles ok. Any ideas? I have cut a couple cords up...

    Help finding good thermostats

Did a remodel this summer and contractor tossed my old thermostats. I have a charmaster wood-oil combo. Bought two new heat only honeywell thermostats. What a joke! Does anyone make a thermostat anymore that actually works? I don't want a fancy digital thing, just something simple that...

good glue needed for plastic handle

I managed to break the tip off of the lower handle( I drove over it) on my buddies 029 stihl. Need a good glue to try and fix it. I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd try to glue it first. I know if probably won't work but thought it was worth a shot. Thanks for the help.

    Oil/wood furnace?

I don't know how to post pictures, but go to charmaster.com. Mine looks just the the one shown only without the louvers above the door. It is a very well built simple furnace that works great.

    Oil/wood furnace?

My charmaster is a wood oil combo. The oil burner is on the side, next to the door. Works great. Has two thermostats so either can be used. They still sell them. I'm pretty sure they have a web site.

What Indoor wood furnace should I buy

Make sure you consider charmaster. Mine has been working great since 1978. They still make them in grand rapids mn. Very simple high quality furnace. If mine ever wears out it will be replaced with another one just like it!

    Caddy vs Husky1

Have you looked at a charmaster furnace? I have one that was installed in 1978 and it is still going strong. They still make them in grand rapids mn. They do have a website. Mine is the wood/fuel oil combo and it works great. The fuel oil part uses the same firebox as the wood, so only one...

Anyone else sick of burning wood?

I know what you mean by never having enough chainsaws. The 5100 was kind of a let down for me, but I've got my eye on a 346 ne. Wasn't to many years ago all I had was an 029 stihl. Didn't have any idea there were better saws out there. Just kept it filled with gas and oil and ran for over...

Anyone else sick of burning wood?

Thanks for the advice. I've already got a 5100, 346 and 365 special along with a 028 av super and a 55 rancher. I think I'm set as far as chainsaws go I'm set. As far as splitters go, I have a three point mounted splitter that goes on a 1066 international. The tractor also has a loader on it. I...

Anyone else sick of burning wood?

Well, a year has gone by and guess what? I didn't put the propane furnace in yet and got the furnace going last week. Got about 4 cords of oak, ash, and elm in the basement. Halfway there. My back is killing me! I get into a rut every few years where I am sick of it then it's right back to...

    chainsaw value? Advice needed

Last Dec. I bought a 5100 dolmar. I've run about 10 tanks of gas through it and just haven't fallen in love with it. What price should I ask for it? Is 300 to much? Nothing wrong with it just don't like it. I keep comparing it to my 346 and other than power it keeps coming up short. The...

    Headache Racks

I used 2 inch by 3/4 rectangular tubing for the frame and 1 inch solid bar spaced every 3 inches for the main part. tube goes into the corner pockets to support it. Has held up really well. It's easy to see out of as well.

Help me decide Dolmar 5100 vs Husky 346xp

Well I have one of each. The 346 is the old edition. The 2 saws are completely different animals. The 346 just screams, is better for limbing and small stuff. The controls are better and the air filter is top notch. The 5100 feels heavier, much more powerful and torqueier(if thats a word)...

    timberwolf tw5 price

Thanks for all the replies. This one is out of my league. Sure looks like a nice splitter though. Didn't realize they cost this much new or used for that matter. I don't split nearly enough wood to make something like this pay. Sure would be nice though. Maybe I'll have to buy a lottery...

    timberwolf tw5 price

Can anyone give me a guess on what a slightly used tw5 splitter with the log lift and log pan be worth? Found a 3 or 4 year old one in real nice condition. Guy said make him an offer. Don't want to insult him and would like to offer him a fair price. What do the new ones cost? Thanks for the...

How old is your wood furnace?

My Charmaster was put in 1978. Still works great! I'm starting to think it's going to outlast me. They still sell the exact same model. If mine ever wears out I'm putting the exact same one in. They are an impressive furnace.

Mineral Deposits in my burnt wood?..

I get alot of these when I burn red elm. Not uncommon. To a lesser degree I get them when I burn american elm. Don't ever seem to get them when burning ash or oak. Lot easier to clean in my opinion.

Anybody try to build a super splitter

This thing really has peaked my interest. What model # is the rack and pinion? I'd like to build one myself. It looks so simple and fast. I know I can fabricate one but need the rack and pinion to get it started. Do you think heavier flywheels would make it more powerful. I was thinking...
