Too many coals building up! Burning full blast

The problem is the entire firebox will fill will coals that if you don't stir them and crack the door they will turn into charcoal. They don't produce heat until there is extra air. I don't like having to **** around with it non stop in the evenings to burn them down, also that causes a drastic...

Too many coals building up! Burning full blast

For the life of me I cannot understand the logic of no grate. The only thing I can think of is it give a longer burn time. I am a owner of a Tundra and after reading your thread on stovace I tried the grate. I made a grate out of .375 304 and I made it sit only 1 inch above the firebrick. I will...

    Anyone burn Sycamore

I really can't say anything bad about it. If I didn't have a hydro then yes I would pass, but the hydro has no problems. I burned a cord last spring and I have one more to go thru this fall before I get to the good stuff. Maybe it doesn't mean much coming from me tho because I also burn pine and...

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

I would have to agree but good luck finding anything in the manual or their website about that. Also has anybody looked at the manual? Wow did they piece that together. Good news I just got an email from SBI saying they are going to ship my updated fire brick kit October 26.

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

Can anybody figure out why they have a circuit board? To me that seems really of engineered when a simple honeywell control would work or even the simple snap discs like the Tundra.

    Drolet Tundra/Heatmax Setup Comparison

If you could please do so. I just do want to see too many people going through the expense and time to fix it themselves.

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

I'm just thinking out loud here but do you think it could possible have something to do with the fact that the caddy was engineered with a plenum. I know on my tundra the high limit switch is located in between the two side by side 8" outlets. When I measure with my infared thermometer with the...

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

Also for those of you that have changed to the adjustable thermodisc 3505-1 is it flush on the bottom? The one I pick up from a local HVAC supply house is protruding about 0.250 past the mounting flange. Is this safe to mount right on the jacket and use spacers or did I buy the wrong one? Sorry...

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

I have a question for you. When you changed the thermostat did you also change back to the 200 deg high limit snap disc? Or are you still running the 160? I ordered my Tundra through Menards with the filter kit and it came with the 200 deg limit switch install on top. I'm having a tough time...
