Thanks Walter...I've always followed the manuals with regards to mix....I have a blower thats 40:1, chainsaw and trimmer thats 50:1 and the Homey....from now on I'll run them all at 50:1.

Good point Walter....I was just following the recommendations, but if it would be okay to run 50:1 in the Homey I would be happy...no worries about it being a little lean?

Thanks guys....yes....that's my dog barking in the background, not my saw. I think a fairly large German Shepherd in my oil tank might indeed cause some issues!!!

    Homelite XL Automatic

Found the two adjustment screws and will follow the previous recommendations.."turn in both H&L mixture screws in until lightly seated & then back out "L" 11/2 turns & "H" 1 turn". Also worked out how to shrink the video of the oiler in operation, and have included a link to it on youtube...is...

    Homelite XL Automatic

Thanks pioneerguy600...so in an earlier post I mentioned that I had adjusted the carb, and the saw was running well. What I had done actually was adjust this idle screw so the carb setting was not changed. I'll go take a look and see if I can spot the two black screws you mention. Also...

    Homelite XL Automatic

Here's a short video of the oiler....and I have a question as to setting the carb....in the photos you can see the set screw and an overview of the carb....I can only find one set screw to adjust, the one thats visible.....is there another one? Saw runs well until I let off the gas, and then...

Thanks undee70ss...I'll take a short video of the oiler in action tomorrow ...perhaps you could let me know once you've seen it if you think it's working correctly.

Sorry undee70ss....should have said drive sprocket....behind the flywheel. The hole in the bar plates line up, and the bar is a homelite bar...the oil comes out in drips....is it supposed to squirt out?? Perhaps its a pumps issue? Thanks.

    Homelite XL Automatic

Thanks undee70ss....one more question...even though I see lots of oil being pumped into the casing where the drive cog is, when I hold the saw up against a flat surface there seems to be little oil getting on to the chain....no wet mark on the flat surface, and the chain seems dry. Is there...

    Homelite XL Automatic

Sorry for the delay folks....finally got my saw pulled apart to check on the oiler line....it appears after all that the line is intact. When I run the saw without bar and chain, the automatic oiler is working perfectly....but I wonder if it should be working this well:-)....it pumps about 3 or...

I've also read quite a lot on trying to identify this saw...and am now completely confused.!! Could not find my UT# 50132 or my serial # T18100189 anywhere....can I assume this saw was built in 1989 from this? Thanks again

One further question...where can I find a copper oil line that runs behind the exhaust box? I think mine has a crack in it, and I'm wondering if they are generic or manufacture specific? Thanks guys...awesome forum!!

    Homelite XL Automatic

Hi Guys...brand new here with a question. I was lucky enough to find the above captioned saw (photo attached)..it has a new plug, new fuel line and tank filter and I've taken the carb apart and cleaned it. It fires up and runs well at idle, but when throttle is applied it seems to bog a...
