    Husky 394 Problem

Hello folks, A long time member of this forum but haven't been around in a while, so I'm sure most won't remember me. A friend stopped in with his Husqvarna 394xp that he bought new and always had and wanted me to look at it - no start. After about 2 pulls I said this thing has no compression...

    Hello and been a while

Hi guys I haven't posted here in quite a while and most won't remember me, but was thinking of this site when I tore my old 359 down and found a stuck ring. It was the first saw I modded shortly after joining this site, it's lasted a long time with some hard use. I've even won a few local...

    Carb intake boot

Thanks Kyle, What I've been having problems with lately is if a boot leak or crank case seals leak, yes do the carb cleaner spray trick. This is on my work saws and my neighbour saw, not mine. Got the wheel working and done. Told you I'd figure something else out. 288 will be a runner. Thanks...

    Carb intake boot

Anyone have a quick and easy way of knowing if you have a bad carb boot on a husky, without taking it off? I found a bad one on a 335xpt the other day, but that was kind of easy to find, sprayed some carb cleaner in the carb and it was coming out by the clamp. The 359's and 350's are what I'm...

    Husky 288

I've got a 288 that I want to play with. Tighten up the squish and a hot woods port. Anyone have some good numbers and pics? Thought about a 066 piston but changed my mind on it, will machine the cyl and maybe dome the piston if needed. Just starting on this one and open for ideas. Mostly a...

    Partner 7000

Anybody know anything about a partner 7000? I found one local on craigslist, said runs good, 24 bar. I have a nice running 5000 and just wondered about the 7000, before I contact the guy. He's asking $200, looks good but would try to deal, and is that too much $$$

Closed port v.s open port (education) calling all saw techs

One reason I've been interested in this thread, I'm working on a open port saw right now, I know they are more limited on performance but I'm trying to get as much out of it that I can. I have to raise the transfers so I'm wondering about keeping them flat on the top, I've already widened them...

What if you reshaped the open port to redirect the flow? Anybody have some pics of a reworked open port?

    Milled my first cylinder tonight!!!!!

I try to keep an eye open for odds & ends scrap that I can use on the lathe. This cylinder jig I built here was a piece of tarp winder spool for a dump truck, it already had threads in it to bolt though the exhaust port. Turned it to 43.8mm for a snug fit in a 44mm jug'

    husqvarna 372xp vs 359

yup If the 359 is done up right it will run with a stock 372 in smaller wood, as said 18" up to 22" - bigger wood the 372 will shine

    My Husky 359 recent purchase

Good deal for you, I'm a 359 fan, some on here love them some don't think they're that good. Regardless you got a good saw for the price.

Closed port v.s open port (education) calling all saw techs

Better to mod as far as better performance potential,I said maybe a little easier as far as opening the transfers. Was hoping to have more discussion on this topic.
