    Whooped!

I was gonna say "stacked with a dump truck?" But that looks nice! Feels good to have it stacked, knowing its only a matter of time before its BTUs in the house. Or where ever

    Maple vs Oak

The coals burn down eventually. It's only an issue during the coldest times, when I want to reload but there's a bunch of coals still glowing. My wood is pretty good, always c/s/s 12+months (don't have oak to burn)

    Maple vs Oak

Strange. Everything you said about sugar maple sounds like our red maples The sugar maple around here is super dense, hot, and produces more coals than I know what to do with

What is causing White Ash to lose leaves early with no fall colors?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ash_yellows No idea if this is it or not (for you), but word around here is that our ash trees are getting it.

    Firewood Heat Chart

This chart doesn't distinguish between sugar and red maple Or between white and yellow birch. ???

Sharpening chain with no chain brake

I've never used the brake if I clamp the bar in a vice. If the chain moves I figure I'm pushing too hard

    Husqvarna Intensive Cut round files.

Just got a Husqvarna sharpening kit, roller guide and two round files and a raker file Noticed the kit came with "intensive cut" files which I haven't used before Haven't used the files yet so this is sort of a pointless post, but the kit with files was cheaper than the roller gauge by itself!!

    Snow me your presents

Got this for my nephew. Made some legit logs with beech and birch

    Maple Syrup Shack Build

Grade B has no more, or less, sugar than Grade A. And I'd recommend an addition for wood storage. It's nice to have extra space when boiling Looks like a great structure though! How big are you thinking of going (# of taps, evaporator size, etc...)

Selling parts and saws on AS

What's with the filter cover on that 044?? Looks like an 046

What saw do you recommend for me?

Nothing to make maple syrup with if we cut them all down!!

What saw do you recommend for me?

We pull 10-15 cord per year off of 35 acres. Every 15 years there's a significant timber harvest. We've yet to make a dent...

    Trimmers

Just got mine today and it's pretty sweet. Seems to have as much power as an fs250 (for what I need). It's not the best pure trimmer, but i got it for clearing trails and along fields I got the Autocut head, plus the brush knife and 8" chisel blade. 2" beech came down pretty easily It takes...

    Trimmers

It is. I had been told they had an FS250 bike handle still in stock, when I arrived they told me it had been sold:wtf: We have had decent luck with stihls 4-mix stuff at work (trimmers/powerbrooms and blowers) so I feel like I'll be able to keep my personal 130 going for quite some time...

    chain pitch. 3/8 vs .325

I've had great luck with Oregon LPX (chisel) sharpened with one of those roller guides on my Husky 246. The speed is decent and it cuts pretty smoothly, great for limbing and pruning cuts People complain about 3/16 files, but use a roller guide and it's not a problem. Takes a couple sharpenings...

    Almost cried

My 266 spent a VT winter behind a stump, didn't get run over and still works fine Plastics looks like crap. Runs as good as any other stock 266, I'd bet

    266 Scored Piston

So - a long overdue update Finally got around to checking the compression. Using a super old gauge (that read 150psi on my 246 and 044, so I'd say it's sort of accurate) I pulled 180+psi on the old 266. No wonder it cuts like a boss...
