    Hotblast 1557 HELLP!!!

Another thing about creosote. I used to get build up in my chimney the first 2 years I was burning wood. This has since changed once I got ahead with my wood pile and started burning good seasoned wood. The other thing is your chimney design will play a large role in creosote accumulation. My...

    Hotblast 1557 HELLP!!!

I have a hot blast 1557M, been burning it since new for 5 years now. One thing that works for me is to let the ashes build up on the grates, don't shake/rake them every time you load it. I also use the loading door slider and leave the cleanout door spinner closed as far as it will go. It seems...

Does anyone know how to remove clutch from Makita DCS 6421?

    Do you have tree-itis?

I believe he is referring to random trees, even those that he would not have access to, at least that is what I'm referring to.

    Let's Discuss Mulberry

is mulberry usually ready to burn in 1 year or 2? I am processing some wood that I believe is mulberry, it seems very heavy (wet). I have never cut, seasoned or burned this type of wood before.

    New 6400 Arrived @ 11:00 - 7910 Conversion by 14:30

Nice saw! I'm 3 tanks into my 6421 converted to 7910. I am happy with the power output. New p/c had 145psi cold compression, after the first tank it was 185 psi cold. I haven't ran it next to my 390xp but from my initial thoughts, I think that they are in the same ballpark.

    Makita 6421 not oiling

Used almost 1 tank last night cutting up firewood, oiling good at this point.

    Makita 6421 not oiling

Thank you for that explanation. After trying a few things tonight, it is oiling. The last thing I did was turn the adjustment screw and pressed it in until the spring was fully compressed. When I released pressure, it sprung back out to normal position. Maybe I didn't have the adjustment screw...

    Makita 6421 not oiling

My next question is, how does the oiler work? Does the flat spot create enough centrifugal force to pump the oil? It seems that the shaft in the pump moves up and down as it rotates. If you turn the adjusted counter clockwise to get more oil, does the shaft goes further up or down?

    Makita 6421 not oiling

I took the oil pump off and removed the internal parts, there is still a nipple on the plastic adjuster screw but it looks slightly rounded. I'm not sure how worn it it. I cleaned out the pump and passages; ensured the oil lines are clear and put it all back together. It is oiling better now but...

    Makita 6421 not oiling
