Stihl 024AV Crontrol lever mount Crack

What causes the mount to crack on these saws. I took apart my 024AV to clean it,I left dirt in the crack so it would show better. It's actually broken all the way thru. The break is where the control lever mounts, on the right side top. Is it fixable? Sent from my LGLS775 using Tapatalk

Want to Buy Stihl 021 or 025 parts saw or parts

I'm trying to finish the 021 in the link below. I'm trying to price out whether I can use oem used Stihl parts or AM. No hurry on this, it's too cold to build it now anyway, because the shop has no heat. I'm building this to clear out scrub trees and undergrowth. So it doesn't need to be a...

    2018 Chainsaw Projects

My goal for 2018 is getting some of my project saws done. 1) MS170 sitting on my bench. I have all parts to put it together. 2) MS170 I'm collecting parts to finish. Drop MS180 engine in, MM, port, and timing advance. Upgraded bar and chain. 3) Stihl 021 I bought off of ebay. Buy a part saw...

Stihl 021 is off the Naughty List

I bought this chain saw new, and it's leaked oil sense new. So I put one of the new style oil lines on and it really helped. It never ran that great either sense new. Always hard starting. I don't think the dealer adjusted the carb right, or possibly a detective carb. So after I put a new...

    Husky 435

I just sold my 435. Not a bad saw for the money. Only one dislike about the saw, it is the purge bulb. I just don't see the point of a purge bulb on a chainsaw. It's just something else that can fail. The saw costs $269 new, so not a bad price for what you get. No problems at all...

Stihl KM90r won't idle when warm

My KM90r has been sitting for roughly four months or so with gas in it. I emptied the old fuel out and put fresh mix in. Started harder then normal then settled down to an idle. High rpm sounded fine. Idle was okay, maybe a hair low. After five minutes or so it won't idle anymore. Hot...

    Country Line bar and chain

I'm putting together a MS170 from parts I bought on the forum. Needed a cheap bar and chain for it, so went in Tractor Supply and bought one. Country Line bar and chain 14" combo for $26.99. I also bought a Country Line bar and chain for McCulloch, 14" bar, 3/8" 050 49dl chain for...

    Stihl 021 leaking oil

During cleanup from Hurricane Matthew I used my MS170. It was just branches down and no trees fell. I was one of the lucky ones, because a lot of trees went down in my area during the storm. I was going to grab my 021 just to give it a little workout, but it had a puddle of oil under it...

    Stihl 021

Stupid CAD struck again. I will either put this back together using used parts, or try some of the Chinese knock off parts. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111716935858&alt=web

    Stihl 024 carb question

Stupid question , how do you unhook the throttle linkage on a 024 AV. The saw has the WT22 non compensating carb on it. I assume the Walbro WT-194-1 replaced the WT22. Their doesn't seem to be an aftermarket replacement for the WT-194-1.

    Stihl 024 AV

I bought a 024 AV off of eBay. I've been looking for a clean low hour saw for the right price. The saw either has a new piston or it's a really low hour saw. Per description it will only run off a prime. I haven't tested it yet. Its just too hot outside to do much. Sadly I couldn't...

    Upgrading my blower need advice

I need advice on a new handheld blower. Already have a backpack blower, but prefer a handheld for some jobs around the yard. So far I've looked at the Husky 125B, 125BX, and the Stihl BG86. I want cruise control, padded handles would be nice, well balanced, and of course dependable...

    Chainsaw gas can

I'm really getting sick and tired of the junk on the market. My new so called safety can sprays a cloud of gas everywhere when you open it. Leaks gas down my hand when I try to fill my saw. My last can wasn't much better. I need a can in the 1 to 1 1/2 gallon range. Any cans on...

    Husqvarna scabbard

Has Husqvarna changed there scabbard design.? A few years ago I had a 445 X-Torq. I don't remember having any issues with the scabbard. I bought a Husqvarna scabbard for my new 435 X-Torq. It doesn't fit properly. Really hard to put on. You have to slam your hand down on the end...

    Husqvarna 435 X-Torq

I was at Lowes yesterday and a 435 jumped in my cart. So I had to buy it and take it home.[emoji3] It rained all day today so I couldnt try it out. The 435 is 2.2 hp. I thought about buying the 440 which is 2.4 hp at $30 more, but with a 18" bar it was a no go for me. I'm not too...

    Stihl 015R

This is my next project. I had it out today, but only had a few minutes to check it out. It has a good bar and chain. I tried it and it does fire. Hopefully I will get the time to compression test it tomorrow. Some pics from just after I bought it. This is a Stihl 015R not...

    Stihl 021 carb

I put a China made carb on my 021. Are they pre adjusted, or do I need to set it before I start the saw.

    Poulan model 86 bowsaw

I thought id share some pics of my Poulan model 86, and ask some questions. I've had the saw a few years, just never got around to doing the repairs. It's missing the spark plug wire end, and boot. I believe it's also missing a cover that goes over the plug. Atleast that's what I...
