    Brush cutter for making trails

The echo probably fits the requirements you state. It has a solid shaft 43cc two stroke engine. It is the largest one they make. https://www.echo-usa.com/Products/Brushcutters/SRM-410U

    Brush cutter for making trails

Hello, I am looking to purchase a brush cutter for making trails. Most of the cutting will be 1 to 2" beech trees. Please don't recommend a chainsaw. I have done 20 acres of TSI with one and its time for an improvement. I was looking at the Honda HHT35SUKA which is a 35cc 4 stroke or an Echo...

    Advice on saw for TSI

That was it. I inspected the drive links and quite a few were damaged causing the chain to throw more frequently. I put on a new chain and will ensure it will stay tight.

    Advice on saw for TSI

Update. I completed 20 acres of TSI with the echo 361p. Cutting everything from 1" saplings to 6" beech trees. The saw is fantastic. It took a lot of abuse and cuts great. The only negative is that the chain gets thrown easily. I have to keep it real tight to reduce it from coming off. Why is that?

    Advice on saw for TSI

Update: I have been running the 361p and it is a fantastic saw. It is super light and cuts with plenty of speed and power. Works great for the TSI work I am doing. Does this saw have a cat in the muffler? If it does is there a way of removing it without voiding the 5 year warranty?

    Advice on saw for TSI

I was thinking its a Stihl. Maybe it is worth it. Then my brain started working. They should probably call it STEAL.

    Advice on saw for TSI

I know I keep talking and no one is listening so here goes. I called Stihl Usa to get more info on the ms150ce since 3 local dealers had nothing on it. Stihl USA state the reason the price is so high is because it is made in germany and not here. She also stated it is all plastic with only one...

    Advice on saw for TSI

Here is an update. I went to three Stihl dealers an no one had the MS150ce. I then went to an echo dealer to see the 361p and none were there either. I told the Echo dealer what I needed the saw for and he recommended a 303t. He uses it personally for the same thing. I said great, let me try it...

    Advice on saw for TSI

Just s a bit of info on my 2152. I just weighed it with a 16" bar chain and 1/2 tanks of fuel and oil. It hit the scales at 15.4lbs. Wow. Heavier than I thought.

    Advice on saw for TSI

20 acres for now. This will grow to over 100 acres. That is why I am looking to get a commercial grade small saw. The ms170 is close to 9lbs powerhead and was told by my local Stihl dealer it would not hold up.

Pretty amazing that it cuts so fast

    Advice on saw for TSI

sw You guys are killing me. Okay, the ms150 is how this post started and I am back considering it. I love the weight at 6.1lbs. Then someone mentioned the echo cs361p which is 8.3 lbs. 24cc vs 36cc. Which of these two saws would cut faster considering the diff in chain type(my guess Echo)? Is...

Does that mean less durable and difficult to service?

    Advice on saw for TSI

This is why I posted here. Real input. The top handle is off my list because of the two responses regarding forearm /wrist fatigue. I really like the Echo cs361p specs someone recommended. It seems to be the lightest in its class among all the brands and it is labeled a professional saw assuming...

    Advice on saw for TSI

I am getting paid for it. Funding comes from the farm bill through the USDA. I love my 2152. It cuts great. I was just looking to lighten the load by quite a bit and still get the job done. I know that when I put down my 372xpw and pick up the 2152 it feels like a feather. I was hoping to have...

    Advice on saw for TSI

Fitness is not the problem. I have learned through the years to work smarter not harder. If a lighter saw will get the the job done I am fully interested in that. The USDA oversight is a non issue since I am a private landowner on my own land. If the only reason against the lightweight top...
