    Balance and feel are more important to me than weight,a well balanced saw can feel lighter than one that is lighter with bad balance. A 395 with a 32" feels lighter than it does with a 24" to me.

    It's smoking because the coil has it limited to low and that makes it overly rich and that makes smoke.

    I hate to be Mr obvious here but have you thought that perhaps something is wrong with the air filter? I bet it's a hd2 that looks clean but is completely stopped up. There the worst filter I've ever seen It can look new and be stopped up. Put your mouth to it and see if you can blow through it

    I put shrink wrap on them. Helps keep your hand cool. After a while they will get hot

    Over time the red light coil will slow and instead of 13k it is probably limited much slower than that by now. You need a id say. I have several of them but id put a regular coil on it instead.
