    335xpt question

He isn't drop starting it, that aids in the problem. I owned a tree and land clearing business for 17 years. I tried to show him how to drop start it but he won't do it.

    335xpt question

A customer of mine brought me a 335xpt a few weeks ago claiming it was too hard to start. I put fresh gas in it and it started right up and ran like a scalded dog. With all due respect he is in his mid 60's and has had some health issues and is on chemotherapy. He claims it feels like us has too...

    What's this

This landed on my workbench. Either it's a clone or a Redmax in different colored plastic. It's 52cc and a screaming little SOB. It holds its own against my Husky 550.

Sthil MS 461 vs Stihl MS 660 Dyno tested

We show it in our system at work but have none in stock. I was in the tree and timber business for most of my life. I had a mix of saws. I ran MS440's until they were gone along with the 460. The 440 was the finest saw ever built IMO. I had a few modified ones that I built myself that would hold...

I came very close to a killer find yesterday...

In out shop our limit is 60 days..We are supposed to charge 10 buck a day for storage 15 days after a repair is done. These saws had been in the storage room since April 2012. After the dude came and got his saws my boss told me I should have just took them home and no one would have ever...

I came very close to a killer find yesterday...

Four years ago I was diagnosed with a very rare auto immune disorder that left me paralyzed from the waist down for about 6 months, luckily they were able to reverse it and get me on my feet again. It did permanent nerve damage in my back and feet so this caused me to sell out my tree and timber...

    MS440 resurrection?

They didn't know that apparently...I'm pissed now because I would have bought two of those instead of the 460's...I think I will be going back down there to make them swap out one of the 460's for a 440..The guy I used to deal with at that store wasn't there and the guy I was dealing with was...

    MS440 resurrection?

I had to close down my tree and grading business about two years due to health issues and I sold just about everything except for one MS460 that was still unused and a MS200t that was barely broken in.When all this happened I didn't keep up with what was going on,there was question as whether I...

Learn the hard way - 13 stitches

I doubt there is a person in the business that hasnt made a mistake and got injured or caused property damage..I was taking out some ice damaged pine trees about 10 years ago. They were on average about 24 inches in dia. at the stump, and about 80 feet tall. There were 10 trees total, and on my...

    Comfortable saw? 60-70cc range...

I would say try and find a Stihl 044/MS440..OR..A 372 husky..I love them both, but IMO the 044/440 is one of the best saws ever produced.

Husqvarna 346XP verses Stihl 260 plastic threads

Ive been using the 346xp for years when doing big tree removals to keep from having to tote up a big saw when I could get away with it,and cant say that ive had any problems stripping out screws.Ive got one that ive had since winter of 09 and its been torn apart three times.Once to port the...

    MS 441....Are they panning out?

It's a good saw.The plastic may look a little rough but it wasn't run very hard and I was the only one to use it.It seems really happy with a 24 inch bar and full comp chain.I ran it a good bit with a 20 and it flat rips..It also happily pulls a 28 inch bar with skip chain...Let me know how you...

    MS 441....Are they panning out?

Put a 24 inch bar and full comp chain on both the 460 and 441 and it's very hard to tell the difference between the two power wise. The 441 is much smoother to run.The only place where a 460 is the hands down winner is when you go to a 28 or 32 inch bar and get into some really big wood. The 441...

    Every body hanging in there?

I've been staying about a month behind since about May,the trouble is that alot of the well established businesses are bidding low just to get work.So even though we're staying busy we're not making the kind of money we need to be.If it weren't for the commercial work I'm doing and the stuff I'm...

What was your 1st ever chainsaw?

Over the last 10 years I have had four saws,a FS250R trimmer, and a BR400 blower stolen. The saws were an 044,an MS440,an MS200t and a O66.Each time they broke into my truck to get them, except for the trimmer. If I were to have caught the person stealing my stuff then I would have probably been on...

    Whats your best saw?

When I first responded on this thread the MS440 was my pick. Now that the 440's are gone the 460 is my main saw.

What was your 1st ever chainsaw?

The first saw I ever used was a 250 super Mac.The first I ever bought was an 034 Stihl.I loved that saw but someone loved it more.It was stolen less than a year later.I loved that saw. When that one was stolen I replaced it with an 044.
