I found some info. I wish it had the HP.

Does anyone have a parts breakdown of this saw they could send me? I just need something that shows the exploded view. I can't find one on bing or google.

Yes! The points in my experience need to be dead nuts on.

Our stihl dealer in town told me of the business card trick.

Ok so two questions. What's the point gap supposed to be and what's the magneto clearance? I've used a business card to set the mag on stihls. Is it about the same on this one? I'm trying to give it a good cleaning while I'm working on it. One piece at a time. Here's some more pics of it also.

I've always heard to do your comp test with the saw wide open.

No scoring on the piston on the intake side.

I looked through the intake and noticed some scoring on the cylinder. The piston looked fine on the intake side.

Don't worry about it. I appreciate all input I can get!

So I've heard. I've tried 3 plugs so far with the same outcome. The third plug was out of my 290.

This is a saw a buddy of mine has had for years. He told me to hang it in my shop if it wouldn't work. He bought a new ms362 and is happy. I just thought I'd play with it.

Ya. I put a new plug in when I checked for spark. Curiously the on off switch isn't working. It has spark in both positions.

I put fuel in with a catheter down the carb. Not even a pop. Checked for spark. It's there. Pulled again nothing, more fuel down the carb, nothin. I'm leaning torwads a sheared flywheel key.

Would a cracked intake boot cause some of the non start issue? I haven't had a chance to work on it yet.

150psi without the carb on. Not to bad.

Well I can hardly pull it over with the comp relief off. I'll put a tester on it later. Can you still get parts for these old girls?

    Jeep saw/four wheeler saw

I'm still looking. I ended up with another project so this might be on the back burner for a bit. Especially if the jeep is broke down. The new project is a McCullough super pro 81.

New to me saw. Has spark and compression. Won't start. I put fuel down the intake and nothing. It's just a wall hanger but I want to hear it run!

    Jeep saw/four wheeler saw

I know I don't need it but a Mac Pro 81 just fell into my lap. I just got rid of an 038 mag so it just makes sense right! Lol
