Dealer says Husqvarna 550xp and 545 are junk

Most outdoor power equipment places that I'm familiar with are just mom and pop outfits operating with as few as 2-3 employees. Do you honestly think these places can afford to send off employees for paid training? I don't. Most of them are probably too tight to spring for the diagnosis...

Dealer says Husqvarna 550xp and 545 are junk

My closest dealer said about the same as OP's. He won't handle the auto tunes any longer and seems to be completely phasing out the Husky saws in favor of Echo. I feel bad for the customers who have problems with these saws. If you watch the videos, they look impressive. If you ask an owner...

562xp vs 555 vs 6100 stock shoot out

I'd like to see some measurements between these saws. PH length, width and weight. All the shills keep saying the Dolmar is so much wider and heavier.

562xp vs 555 vs 6100 stock shoot out

I thought it was well done and liked it a lot! The only things I would have added is the 60cc Echo and Stihl saws. The Dolmar looks impressive!

Ethanol possibly on the way out after critical new study new study

Once the enviroweenies realize making ethanol creates more pollution than it prevents, game on. You do make some good points. Time will tell.

    Hand filing chain

Meow...I think they work great and so does everyone else apparently. Check the reviews, it earned a 4.8 out of 5 every where I've looked. I guess we're all clueless...or...you're a grumpy old man that likes to shitpost.

    Husqvarna 372AT (or maybe 572)?

Sometimes manufacturers just won't listen or possibly only listen to themselves in a vacuum chamber. Remember the Pontiac Aztec? GM thought it was a dandy idea. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a6357/bob-lutz-tells-the-inside-story-of-the-pontiac-aztek-debacle/

    Hand filing chain

I'm very impressed with the Stihl offering: https://www.stihlusa.com/products/chain-saws/filing-tools/2in1file/ I have the Husky roller guide and it does work well also. The Stihl is a little more money, but I find it works better. "The STIHL 2 in 1 Filing Guide simplifies the process of...

    Echo 590 Timberwolf "H" setting

Good thread! I'm all ears whenever people in the know talk tunning.

    Check out the OUTLAW!

Most people that aren't saw aficionados associate bar length with power. They don't even mention, or sometimes even know their powerheads cc. "I have a 16" saw, but I'd like to get a 20" some day". The 20" bar saw is the hillbilly gold standard chainsaw. Doesn't matter the powerheads, it's...

    Need a 50cc or 60cc pro saw.

Can you compare and contrast this new saw with the old? Have they improved the quality; specifically what did they improve? Is the 501sx the same saw? I watched a video of it and it seemed to lag behind the Husky. Are they replacing/improving the 60cc saws as well? I'd be interested in the 60cc...

Stihl MS 362 CM, good to go I need a new saw?

Nice saw OP! The new Stihl saws sure are lookers. How much did you have to pay to spring her from jail? I'm kicking around the idea of one myself. How long is your bar and how does the saw handle/balance? It's supposed to be lighter right? People seem to love or hate this saw. Not sure there is...

    Husqvarna 372AT (or maybe 572)?

Same power as a 372, but smaller and lighter with no knobs to fool with; sounds like a win to me.

    Husqvarna 372AT (or maybe 572)?

I remember reading posts from you a couple years back when I was researching my 372 purchase. You were saying then that Husqvarna was very close to releasing the new model. That seems like an awfully long time to test a new model. Not bagging on ya, just saying.

    Downgrade from 70cc to 60cc

I get ya, but use the 372 for awhile and then switch to a Echo CS400 like I did this past weekend. It makes you start thinking maybe I could get this done with a 2 lb lighter 60cc saw.

    Downgrade from 70cc to 60cc

I know, I know. The 372 xp xt is a beast and has never let me down when I called for it. I call her Excalibur. It will even pull a 28" bar buried in rock hard maple....leaning on it. :) It might be the best saw of the best saws. My back and arms don't think so though.

    Downgrade from 70cc to 60cc

Well, it's more than a camp saw. It's the 'big' saw in my stable. I originally got it in 2014 to cut huge 35"-50" cookies from old growth maple that I'm making into furniture. The saw has paid for itself and I've pretty much run out of huge trees to cut. I'd still like to have a capable bigger...

    Downgrade from 70cc to 60cc

Watching your video discussing this very subject was the inspiration for this thread and my thinking about dropping down in size. I thought pretty hard about it climbing down the steep West Virginia mountainside. After a couple hours of cutting and hauling it back and forth, up and down through...

    Downgrade from 70cc to 60cc

I double checked Bailey's and you're right. I was thinking of the bars for the 372xp. There's only one 18" bar. There isn't any 18" chain that will fit my saw at the local Husky dealer or at Lowes however. Only the .325 in that length.
