    Homemade processor saw issue

when we built ours we set it up with the hand lever (valve) only controlling the saw cylinder, and a limit switch controls a solenoid valve for the saw motor... so when you actuate the saw cylinder and the saw bar moves it comes off the switch and the saw motor starts, and when it goes back to...

    Skidding winch for the tractor

I believe hes talking about stacking (decking) by basically pushing the logs into a stack, mostly done with cable skidders and their dozer blade...but its the same principle for a 3 point winch setup... here's a video that shows it pretty good, skip in to about 50 seconds...then in again to...

    Hydraulic Log Splitter-concept question

Actually its probably because there wasn't already a splitter on the market with that option for DHT to copy....don't worry though now they have something else to make a knockoff of...

    Hydraulic Log Splitter-concept question

    New ds stove.. got questions..

man that thing must smoke like a bastard when trying to start it...a cold masonry chimney with a huge liner, along with the stove pipe with what looks like 0 rise:eek: hard to see the chimney connection, but it looks like all you need is 1 adjustable 45 there, and just (1) 90 coming off the...

    Log Splitter Engine Problem

I don't do it daily, but I have rebuilt hundreds of small engine carbs...today im working on a 11 hp Honda on an Ingersoll rand generator...carb is full of rust from having water in the fuel tank You think a shop is going to turn the regulator down just to blow out a carb? Most probably don't...

    Log Splitter Engine Problem

heres another comparison for you... Farmall "A" (17 HP) 4 cylinder engine.........now I have a Wheel Horse garden tractor with a "17 HP" single cylinder Kawasaki...do you think those engines are anywhere near comparable, or do you think the Kawasaki could do the work that the 4 cylinder...

    Log Splitter Engine Problem

that's somewhat true but only because the small engines of today are such low torque, they need the extra rpm to overcome the load being applied since they don't have heavy flywheels or torque that old engines had which allowed them to do more work with less "HP"......think of a super split type...

    Log Splitter Engine Problem

yeah if it were an electric motor... those conversions don't work on gas/diesel engines...though they may hold true to todays small engines with their high hp/ low torque...? somewhere along the lines the way HP was calculated has changed, ( 8 hp use to be able to do what now takes 25 "hp") a...

    Log Splitter Engine Problem

too much thinking for most of these guys around here it seems... nearly all the people that have seen my splitter ask about the engine I have on it (50-60 year old twin cylinder Wisconsin) wondering why I would ever put something so "unreliable, and hard starting", etc. etc. on it :dizzy: all...

No Freaking wonder my cylinder got LOST!

i bought my cylinders for my splitter from surplus center...they stuck it in a cardboard box...a 200+lb. cylinder in a cardboard box:dumb::dizzy: the box and the cylinder both made it to me together...but they had definitely been apart a few times during the trip (cylinder punched its way out...
