    Skid steer splitters

Anything skid steer mounted is expensive. Have often wondered why on the splitters too. It's likely an economies of scale thing related to manufacturing. They certainly aren't popular so that's likely why the cost is high.

    Kohler Engine Quality ?

The old 25/27 hp commands were pretty stout and reliable. Parts are offense expensive. Known for blowing head gaskets and noisy lifters. My 27 on the garden tractor gets noisy lifters when hot out. I was at the local lawn equipment dealer last week dropping off some saw parts for a guy that...

    Longest bar on 076 Super

Mine wears a 42" with an 8 pin sprocket and skip chain. Cut a lot of big red oak and ash years ago. Can definitely handle more with a 7 pin rim.

    Wood insert recomendations

I have an old Country EPA stove that i really hate. the blower is always on the fritz and it will cost more to replace the blower than i have in the stove. It makes an odor that isnt smoke related...I am not interested in making amends with it. I have plenty of insulated chimney liner above it...

    Wood stove odor

I have a Country C210 stove, most recently made by Lenox. Its one of the EPA garbage ones. Just cleaned the chimney liner like i do every fall before i start it. anyway, when this thing is going, it makes an odor. like paint maybe. is there any reason for this other than a bad paint job? I dont...

Get new clutch shoes. They aren't cheap if still available but I doubt you would have satisfactory results with the old shoes. I never tried it though. I can't remember how I wired my chip

    Honda Tillers

I don't know where your at but I have seen them around my area for $100-150 with bad motors and decent tines on Craigslist or Marketplace.

    Honda Tillers

I have never ran a honda. Hope to never need to. If your time shaft bearings are still tight fix the horse. There is no clutch, it's all belt drive, belt tension is important and needs to be periodically adjusted. If your HI/LO is engaged and your drop the main stick in go the tines are moving...

    MS250 for $75, no compression...sure, why not

The ms250 is a pretty easy saw to work on in comparison to others. Try working on ms390... Anyhow i have a roached out ms250 that i got disassembled in a box that has way more hours on it than it was designed for, with a cheap golf piston, and it has been cutting cord after cord for over a...

What is a good cleaning solution to use in an Ultra Sonic Cleaner?

I use purple power 5:1. I still have a 2.5 gallon jug of the old formula before it turned the carbs black. I will not be purchasing the new formula. I deal with heavily soiled carbs and often require hours of clean time. When the solution is too scuzzy to use again I pour it in nasty gas tanks...

    KB7 ay drive sprocket

I never had luck getting them off. I have tried, but also keep in mind the clutch discs are in there too.

    Stihl 075AV woes

I installed plugs on my saws that used to have decomps. Use red loctite on that. Any screw you remove must be re-installed with blue loctite. Pretty much everything vibrates loose on these saws.

    Remington 6p pneumatic chainsaw

I have a few air saws, but not a 6P. Is it a one-man configuration? You definately need a tow behind compressor to cut with them. I have taken mine to vintage engine shows with the compressor and cut with them.

    Anyone from NC?

I found something on CL but the seller wont ship. Not an expensive item but i really need parts off of it. Appears to be a few min. southwest of Raleigh. If anyone would be interested in an adventure to grab it and stuff it in a box for me let me know. Naturally i'd be happy to take care of...

    Titan ER / Bluestreak

UPDATE: the saw started easy and runs good. Carb needs a little tuning on the low side but thats tough to do in the dark. This will be a good running saw, i am glad i took the chance on the coil. Hopefully others can use some info here to resurrect a saw with a bad coil.

    Titan ER / Bluestreak

So I finally got around to working on this saw. It was a bit needy, as in transmission bearings were all siezed as were many other things but not a big deal. The big deal was spark, as there was none due to a bad coil. Hours and hours of research eventually turned up that this coil was Wico...

    Titan Bluestreak 2-Man

I have looked into making one, a buddy of mine has a nice sprocket on his saw for a template. Lets just say its cost prohibitive to have one made. :-)
