    Wood insert recomendations

I have an old Country EPA stove that i really hate. the blower is always on the fritz and it will cost more to replace the blower than i have in the stove. It makes an odor that isnt smoke related...I am not interested in making amends with it. I have plenty of insulated chimney liner above it...

    Wood stove odor

I have a Country C210 stove, most recently made by Lenox. Its one of the EPA garbage ones. Just cleaned the chimney liner like i do every fall before i start it. anyway, when this thing is going, it makes an odor. like paint maybe. is there any reason for this other than a bad paint job? I dont...

    Anyone from NC?

I found something on CL but the seller wont ship. Not an expensive item but i really need parts off of it. Appears to be a few min. southwest of Raleigh. If anyone would be interested in an adventure to grab it and stuff it in a box for me let me know. Naturally i'd be happy to take care of...

    Titan ER / Bluestreak

So I finally got around to working on this saw. It was a bit needy, as in transmission bearings were all siezed as were many other things but not a big deal. The big deal was spark, as there was none due to a bad coil. Hours and hours of research eventually turned up that this coil was Wico...

    Titan Bluestreak 2-Man

Hey guys, been a while since i posted anything. Ive been too busy with non-saw related stuff, but i found a little something today. Drove over 4 hours one way for it and it needs a lot of work, but a neat saw none the less. I believe it to be a blue streak, although the mufflers are different...

Want to Buy Disston KB Series flywheel cover & air filter housing

I am looking to buy a air filter housing preferably with filters, and a flywheel cover, and also a helper handle oiler tailstock housing for a mercury/disston kb series chainsaw. It is going on a KB7-ay saw that i am finishing up. I am happy to purchase or will also trade kb series parts, mall...

    Mall 2 man chainsaw clutches

It is prett commom to have a saw with a wrecked clutch, so i figured i would share how i am solving the problem. Two weeks ago i purchased a mall model 11 with the clutch shoes missing. I had a spare set of shoes, but the linings had been frozen loose by water over the years. I took the...

    Disston DO-100 Two Man Carburetor

I recently acquired one of these with a really sweet helper hadle, i cleaned up the whole saw an most of the original decals are still there. Cleaned up the points, have a nice hot blue spark. Now the question of the hour: HAS ANYONE EVER MADE CARB DIAPHRAMS FOR THESE??? This carb is...

    Mall Chainsaw Carburetors Suck.

Does anyone have a trick for getting the steel float rod to seat well against the brass seat? My steel float rod had ridges on it (where it seats against the brass seat), and i sanded them out using a drill and fine paper. Darn thing still wont seat, it leaks fuel at the rate of a constant...

    Stihl 088 Parts Help!!

I un-mothballed my 088 hotsaw last week, and the bottom end needs bearings before i give it hell again. A bottom end rebulid is nothing new to me, but Stihl has the larger more expensive bearing and the gasket kit with seals backordered until mid October. Can anyone help me get these two...

    Mall Model 7 Carburetor Trouble

Just wondering who is familiar with these carbs? Since new floats are not available, I coated them again so that the new fuel will not ruin them. My trouble is that I am struggling to get the saw to idle, and i have a feeling it is float related. Are there any standard settings to adjust the...

Tools "NOT RECOMMENDED" for chainsaw repair

We all discuss the cool tools that you recommend for use here and there for use on chainsaws. How about the tools that you have used that do not work particularly well on chainsaws? I'll start off with two: BFH (Big Friggin Hammer) Pitman arm puller. What has anyone else...

Stihl 009 air leak, cant stop it.

So i am helping a friend of the family with his 009. Cleaned the carb and got it going, ran like it had a bad air leak. It sure does, at the bottom of the carb between it and the reed block. I installed a new gasket, still leaks bad. Tried two gaskets, no help. I also flat sanded the top of...

    Mall Model 7 Crank bearings

So, as a result of the antique saw CAD, i have been finding some two man saws lately. I recently picked up 2 Mall 7's, and a 6 in one day. One 7 is locked up, the other is real real nice....surprisingly nice. Only problem is, there was a squeak when i turned it over. Another thing that stuck...

Crankin 245CC's with a rope---2 man saw update.

Well i got the saws home and had a few minutes to work on them. I have good compression and spark in both of them now after i filed the points in the Mall. The Mercury had good spark surprisingly. As they are now they will likely never cut wood but that dosent mean i cant make them run. :)...

How did I do? Big 2 man saws!

Today on CL i got a mall model 6 and a mercury kb-7(the military painted one) both for $75. The mall needs a clutch housing, and should run. The mercury however is missing a few parts. It is missing the recoil, right handle and a few other miscellaneous items. Compression seems a bit low but...

    Guess this chainsaw!

    Larger saw carb governor questions

How many of you disable the governor valve on your carbs for the tilly HS and walbro WS? I find that they often kick in at too few rpm, making tuning difficult at best, and not knowing were exactly the saw is running at. For example, i reinstalled the walbro ws26 on my 076 and the governor...
