Thanks for your words of encouragement and for your own personal experience having a ruptured bicep. Surgery went well and it’s been pain free. The antibiotics have been giving me quite a bit of side effects, but that’s getting better as well. Taking it easy with work, but have been able to...

What a timely post, I just ruptured my bicep tendon a few weeks back, surgery on Monday.

I think you’re right about the cylinder acting as a lift to get a big piece started, but a crush cylinder as well. I haven’t even chipped anything yet. I got it in the shop going over everything. Need to service the engine, wash it, knives, anvil, fix the winch motor coupling, lights and weld...

Bought this woodsman/terex chipper at an auction yesterday. So far I think I got a great deal, will know more as I dive into it. Not very pretty, but rated at 19” capacity and has a 200hp Deere motor. Woodsman have a gear motor on the feed wheel motors, supposedly makes for a strong infeed...

I’m surprised you don’t use it much. IMO, if you can get the bucket to it, I’d park the tracked lift. Faster operator speed, space free’d up on the trailer to bring a loader, gear conveniently stored in the truck, etc. Just sell the second tracked lift and buy a crane. Think about all those...

Busy as usual working and fixing stuff. Finally got a hooklift truck for a sweet price! Just got it this past Sunday. Was lucky to be surfing Facebook and saw this less than a 1/2 hour after it was posted. I have some work to do to it before I can use it and I need to find some boxes, but in...

I have the sales receipt for this machine from when he purchased it last April. He paid 45k for it with the grapple. I look at it that I saved 10k off a new one. I never finance any of my equipment, so this fit my budget better as well. Truthfully, I ideally want a ditch witch sk1550, but a new...

I did it. 2022 g1200hd (non tele) with 94hrs. Got it for $35,500. Figured if I don’t like it, I’ll get my money back out of it.

That’s the thing that gets me with the articulating loaders, seems like they need ideal conditions to use them or you’re getting stuck. Not the case with tracks on a mini skid. Mud, snow, hills, etc. I strategically lay plywood and watch the weather pretty close to avoid laying plywood highways...

For the guys that run both the articulating loaders and mini skids, do you find you use one style a lot more than the other? Or do you stick to one style the most and the other one sits? I’m thinking about picking up a giant g1200hd without tele. I already have a ditch witch mini, and would...

Lol, kinda what I was getting at. Heard a lot, but never seen a picture of anything. I see I’m not the only one to catch on.

    New thread

Been looking for a hooklift truck to add to my fleet. Drove 10 hours a few weeks back to New Hampshire to buy an international 4300 hooklift only to find out the transmission was shot. Had to floor it to even get it to move. Waste of time and money, so I’m done going farther than 5 or 6 hours...

Got a picture of it? That would take 2 circuits to run the grapple and the winch right?

Thinking of a taller wedge for a Super Splitter

I welded a 1 1/2” piece of chipper knife on the top of my existing wedge, but I did recess it a bit so it’s still just the initial wedge height making contact with the piece of wood. It’s been a nice improvement performance wise and I’ve yet to see the machine notice it when operating (bogging...

I’m with ya man. Reading the thread and comprehension of it are two different things. Really disappointed with the response from the mods. This thread is legit when he’s not popping off, it has a smooth flow and we just post up pics of real life tree work as our journeys unfold. Analysis of...

Pretty much my same sentiment when I bought my crane and started reflecting on my progression. Have been doing tree work in some aspect for almost 15 years and just bought a bucket and crane within the last year. I’ve never been hip on having loans/payments, so I’ve just been saving up $ to be...

    Bittersweet eradication

I’ve never seen it infiltrate ancillary trees/shrubs. I use it for invasive species, vines, small saplings and even large trees. One landowner was trying to eradicate locust trees in a section of her property according to a forestry plan, I used Tordon on the stumps after removing all the locust...

    Bittersweet eradication

PDQDL has the right idea, treat the stump with tordon. It works really well and easy to control/apply.
