    Poulan XXV Automatic?

That's a pretty offensive statement! Poulan made TONS of awesome, reliable saws that would run with the best. Its only in the past 25 years or so that they have given up on competing int he market seriously. I have a Poulan 3700 for sale in the marketplace that could change your mind as well-...

Shameless bump...no love for green saws here?

    Sold Poulan 3700 Package

Strong-running 3700 (ignore the 4000 sticker) with two B&C combos. Moderate muffler mod woke up the throttle response and made it sound MEAN, but other than that this is a very clean, unmolested example. I love it, but I don't use it as often as I should so maybe I can buy some nice Christmas...

    Echo 750EVL

Saved this saw from the scrap heap a few weeks ago. Missing clutch cover and B&C. Anyone have parts they aren't attached to? OR Anyone interested in it? I'm a Poulan guy...would gladly trade for a comparable green saw (size/condition). This saw has great compression and looks to be very...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Yea, I have no interest in being a professional tree service- I never did really, but I know what you are saying of course. I looked into it briefly, but its just not something I'm into. I generally only did it for the wood. After all this consideration (thanks everyone for all of your...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Thanks for the response. I live near the Jersey shore, I have inquired with a few tree services but most around here are doing their own firewood processing so there aren't many scraps left. I have a few contacts locally for wood, but like I said- this guy is just short of begging me to get...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Opinion poll: Former landlord/friend sells solar jobs, occasionally sets me up with wood or some light tree cutting that results in free wood. Have not dealt with him in the last year or so due to me feeling like I was being taken advantage of/being put in shady situations. Has a job site 45+...

    Federal Airtight 264CCL Questions

Mine has had an air leak for the past two seasons (this year and last) that I cannot find. I know its on the bottom somewhere as if I let it fill up with ash and just shovel out the firebox (leaving the pan and underneath area packed full) the burn times increase by 2-3 hours. I did put a...

Anyone else fired up their woodstove yet?

Still need to sweep the chimney, re-gasket the doors and install the new catalyst. Might be a projector for next weekend come to think of it. I actually never cleaned the stove out last spring...got busy building a new deck. Same logs stacked next to it, same ash in it from the last fire back...

Any one cut fire wood with a "vintage" saw

I have a P28 Pioneer that was my grandfathers...I try to run it once every month or two to keep the fuel fresh. It always fires right up, and with a razor sharp chain it is a pleasure to run. Sure its heavy and loud, but its comfortable to use for bucking. Runs an 18" bar I think. Its a...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Aw man, thats one of the good ones! With AV! I have two grey ones and a red one all in Craftsman livery, but I have yet to get my hands on a green one. Great find!

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I was considering carrying a smaller boat on top of my larger aluminum rig in exactly the same fashion this summer (a 12' over my 16'). I have concerns about it hurting the bottom of the bigger boat along the trailer bunks because of the extra weight. How have you faired traveling like that...

    Why I work alone

Last night, the two of us (wife and I) were assembling the Harbor Freight greenhouse I got her for christmas. Beginning with the "foundation" box that I insisted on building out of 2x12s, even though she thought we could just set it on some bricks on the ground. Expecting her to badger me the...

    Why I work alone

Its always lose/lose for me. Sometimes, I just ignore her and keep working...then she gets mad and says WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING TO ME?!. Sometimes, I do it her way, and when it goes wrong/takes longer/is more difficult, I point that out, and she gets mad. Other times, I really DO need her...

Anyone build an atv yard trailer fire wood hauler

I got some solid rubber wheelbarrow wheels for mine from harbor freight. They had cash iron businhings pressed in that I was able to bore on the lathe to the proper ID for my axle (1" versus the .75" they came as). No flats, hold plenty of weight, and cheap!
