    Trimming help?

Trees are active in dormancy but its auxin is normally allocated to root growth in the dormant period. The number one reason to trim in fall is bugs which transmit disease are less active during that time. Also in the active growing season wounds will continue to bleed sometimes all summer until...

    Wanting several trees taken down...

I'm normally too cheap on trimming, many times can take longer to trim than to just cut it. Pecan I know to increase my $ though and for me 500 would not entice me enough to jump into one. Properly trimming will require each lead climbed to the tips where reduction cuts 3 " dia can be performed...

    Wanting several trees taken down...

Pecans do grow long spindly almost look lions tailed it is just their nature. Yeah winter is best, the smaller natives are the best tasting usually. Doing reduction can alleviate limb drop and reduce likelihood of uprooting in our southern stormy season. They are a bear to work in especially when...

Am I over pricing myself to split logs?

Set your price based on your time and labor and wear and tear they either agree or not. As far as what I'm seeing looks like a cord each first two piles a maybe 2 in last. I tell folks all the time that the wood is free the labor is what i charge for "just saying"

Pecans are sort of weak wooded a reduction sometimes helps on longer limbs. That sure is a beauty hate to see you lose it. Does it produce nice pecans?
