My Husky 288 chain brake won't reset

Remove the clutch and drum, it's easy enough. Attach the brake to the studs and reset. Re-install the clutch.

    Husqvarna 550xp, baffle removal

Will the reflective tape stay on the muffler when its hot? I put the foil on the crankcase under the muffler of my 562 after a mild muffler mod (also some on the top cover over the muff, top is no longer as hot). Tell us how it works out.

    Advice: building 268/272 from parts

I just finished converting a 61 to a 272 with a Farmertec P/C that I ordered 6 months ago to see what a Huztl P/C was like. All of my other saws are OEM, so this was a first. The good news was that the cylinder, for some reason, looked like it was made by Tecomec. It had black finish, made...

    562 oil pump adjustment

The 562 has 3 positions. Mine was set to the mid position per the owners manual, but only seemed to move to two positions. The adjustment screw is recessed into the housing when in position 1 (about the 11 o'clock position). # 2 the screw is about 9 o'clock and flush with the housing...

    562 oil pump adjustment

Guys, I just got my 562 cutting 20" oak this morning ( this thing really rips) and wanted to increase the oil amount to the bar. The manual indicates that there are 3 settings. The screw adjustment on this saw will only turn about 20 degrees between two different positions. Another additional...

    Husqvarna 268 oiler adjustment

The 268 has a 4 position screw adjustment to regulate oil volume. Remove the clutch cover. The adjustment screw is flush with the pump around the 10 o'clock position behind the clutch hub. You may need to clean the gunk before it becomes visible. There are 1-4 numbers cast into the pump...

Has the hot start problem been solved on the newer 562xp?

Just fired mine an hour ago. This saw is very very strong. Started on 4th pull, idled perfectly and really ripped through 20" oak right out of the box. The 562 may be my new favorite.

Has the hot start problem been solved on the newer 562xp?

Used to be a one time thing, when new. No longer needed.

Has the hot start problem been solved on the newer 562xp?

I hope so. I just picked one up yesterday. Mercifully, nothing in the manual regarding the crazy 3-5 min full throttle running for autotune to calibrate itself.

    Calling All Husky 254xp, 257, 261 and 262xp Historians

It looks like the magnesium cover has 3 cast in pins that match revised crankcases. Does anyone know if I can simply grind off the pins and retrofit to my 1993 262's that have the earlier crankcases and plastic covers. The modified cover would only be braced by the two bar mounting studs, but...

    "You Suck" Thread 2016--Pics required!

I visited the site 8 months ago to find out about a Husky chainsaw that I bought new in 1993, used for 15 minutes and put it on the shelf where it sat for the past 23 years. Its a 262xp and in "like new" condition. Its all original with the .058, 20", orange Husqvarna lettered bar. I have a...
